Our zone time, fore check, back check, and puck support were all text book things of beauty and as consistent as I have seen for 60 minutes in a while. Beating this team on the road after all the hype for this game, knowing they were cup finalists last season, should do wonders for our young bunch moving forward as the games become more meaningful. VERY PROUD OF THIS GROUP! MY ISLES FLAGS WILL FLY TOMORROW HERE IN FLORIDA!

Took advantage of their size. No reason they cannot grind teams down with guys like Lee, KO, Nelson, Kuli, and Martin. Isles can share with the rest of the league on how to beat the Rangers.

A great game against one of the best teams in the league in their building- finally figured out to block shots and forecheck in the neutral zone, and at the offensive blue line, with the three goal lead in the third period. They can't score if they don't have the puck. Dump it in the corner, squeeze it against the boards, and make them come get it. That's how you close out a hockey game.

Yes it was. Islanders kept the pressure on them in the third. They couldn't get anything going. Twice in the thirs martin amd clutter were along the boards with four Rangers and one of their players high and came out with the puck and created a chance. Thats huge when your fourth line can do that. Cizikas had some game.

Strait was +1 in nearly 20 minutes on the ice. He was good by Strait standards. Although he did made a few good plays, it would be a slight exaggeration to say he was good overall, since he had to get bailed out a few times by his teammates.
