Good post, Philly fans are known for a lot of things, sadly patience is not one of them.

I'm pretty sure Hexy will move a dman or 2 at the deadline and get a couple more picks. His first draft looks pretty good so far and I'm excited about the top 10 pick we will have this year. Hopefully by the end of next season, Vinny retires and Umberger is bought out, some of the kids on D start to make an impact and 16-17 sees us as moving towards being a contender.

- BiggE

I think the Flyers are going to be limited to what they can do at the trade deadline. Hoping Lecavalier retires is a false hope. I don't see it happening anytime soon in my opinion.

This is the only game, at this point in the season, I want the Flyers to win. But c'mon...Zepp and/or Emery? Ugh.

And clearly rivalries come and go, it's the nature of the beast. I used to really dislike Toronto for a while there, and the Sabres...now they are both very 'meh' teams.

- wolfhounds

I love seeing Toronto implode, but that's more due to the fanbase than the team.

Wow, have I pushed a button this morning?

There are hundreds of players in the NHL. I can only tell you the mistakes made, smart guy, which I have.

- SuperSchennBros

You seem to push buttons often...

Just stay away from the big red one!

Let's say Manning and Lauridsen gives us a good game, or stretch of games--do you set fire to the wagon now or still wait until the deadline?

I'm thinking wait to the deadline when teams are really desperate.

- KGBflyers10

I would have been selling since mid-December. You don't have to wait until the TDL to get good value for a guy. Look at Vanek last season. He got traded in October for far more than he was traded for at the TDL.

No, your calling me a jack ass while trying to figure out away to say your not. I'm not being short sited. The signing are safe but do nothing down the road. The drafting is good but we have to wait and see how they pan out. Even Bobby Clarke got lucky with Claude Giroux. Can we speak on how well Hextall has traded when putting drafting and signings aside?

I think you are overreacting like a jack ass to my posts and yes, I am calling you a jack ass.

I agree, rivalries do come and go, when the Flyers were playing Toronto regularly in the playoffs, it was a bigger rivalry. Pittsburgh is still up there near the top of the rivalry list in my opinion.

I agree. You can make value deals before the dealine.

But I also think this year a lot of teams have lost defensman so you might have more value after the all-star game when teams are looking at their rosters going into the playoff rush. Tampa lost Carle and Hedman has had injuries this year. Maybe they move a 1st rounder and prospects for someone like Coburn since they seem to have a legit chace at a cup. LA need defenders.

Is he not allowed to expect guys to do their job? He can't expect Read to play better or maybe Simmonds to do more or Coututier to push the pace offensively more? Team toughness is not just fighting or hitting per se. It is being tough on the puck, taking a man on the forchek hard, winning board battles, finishing plays. A lot of the Flyers problems seems to be more a lack of consitant effort. Not just skill.
- J35Bacher

What are implying that I'm implying? Skill? We're not tough enough or fast enough. We lack in a lot of different areas. The holes have only gotten bigger the past two offseasons.

Based on the timeline, Carle could be back by the deadline, and the playoffs don't start until April.

Hexy just doesn't have much to sell, tho.

Schultz, Emery? You might get a marginally better return at the DL than now on those two.

The rest of the guys we talk about selling around here... probably pipe dream.

Possible. Also possible we see what the Flyers have run into, where guys are hurt. Hopefully they can get guys back to at least have options at the TDL.

I would have to say the Penguins are the Flyers biggest rivals right now based on how the Flyers play against the Pens. They hate that team and it brings the best out of them. The Flyers seem to not really care about the Rangers or Devils at the moment. Which is ridiculous...... Constantly laying eggs against what is supposed to be your bitter rival.

I don't really see them getting value for anyone that they might make available. It could very well be a quiet deadline day for Hexy if he doesn't get the offers he's looking for.

And set backs never happen.

I know when the playoffs are. But if they have a chance to solidfy the defense at the TDL they might make the move.

He doesn't have a ton to sell, but I think that Coburn and Streit would have value, even with their existing term.

But even besides those two, the for sale sign would have been up long ago. Maybe it has. We've all heard reports that Hextall has been trying to make deals since October.

I don't know that they don't care, but they certainly struggle against the Rangers, and the Devils at times. I agree, the Flyers seem to have a lot of emotion when they play the Pens. Hopefully that's the case tonight.

Just let it go. Having a debate with someone is one thing, but arguing with someone on the internet is just a waste of time. Just some advice.

Del Zotto and Schults might be able to get you something. For me that would be good asset management as they were signed for really nothing. Say you get 3rd rounders i think it would be good deals.
