I don't really see them getting value for anyone that they might make available. It could very well be a quiet deadline day for Hexy if he doesn't get the offers he's looking for.
- tangent_man

I get that and agree. I expect more to happen at the draft and even next year's TDL.

I do agree some guys who people want to see dealt are unlikely to have value, there's a few guys that can probably be turned into decent picks and/or prospects

Being that Streit/MacDonald are the Flyers top pairing tonight, they should wear these jerseys just for fun!

You seem to push buttons often...

Just stay away from the big red one!

it's not my problem that the collective majority easy have the most fragile egos I've ever come across in my entire life. You guys disagree with me right now, so you'll take a shot at what you think you know about my online personality. It's laugh able because somehow I'm your pathetic online arch villain in your mind.

Nothing you say to me for example ever makes sense. Feel free to cry.

Del Zotto and Schults might be able to get you something. For me that would be good asset management as they were signed for really nothing. Say you get 3rd rounders i think it would be good deals.
- J35Bacher

I'd hang on to MDZ. I think he can be a solid piece moving forward. Schultz, I'd definitely be trying to move. Would definitely not be against dealing him and then going after him as a FA in July.

What, so you can call me a jackass too? No thanks. Carry on, with your little run of immaturity.
- Doc_Sarcasm

Would your feels be crushed that much? He called me a jack ass first.

He doesn't have a ton to sell, but I think that Coburn and Streit would have value, even with their existing term.

But even besides those two, the for sale sign would have been up long ago. Maybe it has. We've all heard reports that Hextall has been trying to make deals since October.

- Jsaquella

I think he's probably worn out the battery in a half-dozen phones by now.

Coburn, yes... he could be moved. But even Streit... as many points as he's putting up right now, is still a tough tough contract to accept for most clubs.

Holmgren didn't inherit many long term deals, and his first full summer the Flyers had a mountain of cap space to add guys.

Hextall inherited a team that had to spend over the cap just so they could use Pronger's full LTIR exemption. It's a team that squeaked into the playoffs last year with great special teams.

I don't like the Hartnell trade either, but I get why it was done. That contract had the potential to be a major handicap in a year or two. I'm glad Hextall didn't make a short term move to add a washed up Sergei Gonchar. I'm ecstatic he didn't trade a high pick for a guy like David Perron.

Expecting Hextall to be able to do what he wants to do in one season is being highly unrealistic

- Jsaquella

Hartnell has 10 goals so far and Umberger has 8. If that number stays that close through the end of the season it makes that trade look a ton better. Especially, because the Flyers power play is just as good if not better. The only real downside to the deal is Umberger has not been good at all on the PK.

Am I the only one who wants to keep MDZ? I think he's been fun to watch and could be a lot more effective when this team has other talented pieces for him to play with.

Just let it go. Having a debate with someone is one thing, but arguing with someone on the internet is just a waste of time. Just some advice.

And set backs never happen.

I know when the playoffs are. But if they have a chance to solidfy the defense at the TDL they might make the move.

- J35Bacher

They might, I'm just saying I wouldn't count on the injury to Carle, causing the Lightining to get desperate, and take on a player with term.

Might have something to do with the system.... IDK. Just about everyone has looked bad on the PK because it looks like there is no clear direction with this team.

Hartnell also has 18 assists. Everyone knew the Flyers were giving up the better player, including Hextall.

I think that if they can get rid of a couple of D contracts, maybe Schultz and MDZ can be signed on the cheap again next year as placeholders for the kids in the system.

Let's face it, next year isn't looking like some great turnaround, and these guys aren't the biggest liabilities the team could be carrying.

I have liked Del Zotto signing. I could go either way. Good offer you move him. No good offer keep him moving forward. I liked the way he responded yesterday to some of the physical play. I would like it more if maybe MacDonald was moved. I think del zotto could fill his role. I know some might disagree but I just don't love MacDonald. And love him less that Staal is signed for less then what MacDonald makes.

You said he made one move, the entire board proved you wrong. You changed your argument as a result and got your feeling hurt in the process. Its a daily occurrence with you.

The PP has been as good, and Umberger has played better. Still as a strictly hockey trade, it's not a very good one. But when they comes to the point where they need to re-sign guys, it will be a huge help
