Interesting article on Hagg with some praise for him from Murray.
http://www.mcall.com/spor...150114-column.html#page=1
I'm glad they are letting him develop in LHV rather than throwing him in the deep end tonight against the Pens. - Feanor
"The one thing Hagg has got is a pretty good IQ of the game, when you talk about our team and system and structure and the different reads you have to make," Murray said. "Even our talks about adjustment between periods, he can adjust to that and gets it. Those are the players that have a real upside to their game. Those are the guys who end up breaking through to the next level."

Some do it with reason and tact, though. As someone who likes to discuss facts and use reason and logic while dismissing rants, I thought you'd notice the difference. - jmatchett383
Here's what I notice, he is simply gving his opinion, right or wrong. I think his opinion should be attacked, rather then the poster. He only gets his burr up when he is attacked. I don't agree with him either, but I'm not going to call him a jackass for it. |

How about if I offered you $20? Would you call him a jackass in a Darth Vader voice? |

The Penguins are in a bit of a slump but Crosby has 4 goals and 13 points in his last 7 games which means the Flyers are screwed. - NickTheKid87
Yeah and Mason isnt here to save our bacon either. It would take an unsually strong game from Emery or the game of Zepps career to win tonight. IMO |

MDZ is young an still a RFA. I think he's solid and capable of being a good player. He's been really solid the last few games, and I think he's worth keeping.
Now, if somebody offers a 1st rounder and a top prospect, adios.
Andrew MacDonald would be fine if he was on a 3 year deal, as the 4th or 5th defenseman, making between $2mm-$3mm and playing behind a legitimate top pair. - Jsaquella
Oh definately. I think you would move him for a 2nd too. but I am ok keeping him as well. I think he has been playing better. Right now I prefer him to MacDonald on the ice. I shake my head that the Rangers can lock up Stall at his price and we pay more MacDonald. |

I keep reading the reason why Hagg isn't recalled is he's not NHL ready. Ok, I understand that. But Lauridsen never is, or was NHL ready. I guess the thinking is they don't want to potentially ruin Hagg in a lost season, while Lauridsen isn't a prospect so you can just plug him in. |

I'd really like to see some moves made at the deadline, particularly if it will net us a couple more picks in this draft. Its probably unrealistic to expect a high first round pick for this years draft, but even a 2nd this year would be nice (since we don't have our own).
If Edmonton really wants Coburn I would love to see him moved for their 1st in 2016 or 2017 (i have faith they'll still be bad). This is possibly unrealistic, perhaps their 2nd this year and next year? (assuming they still have those)
To address your point about moving guys who don't have much in the way of value: If Hexy can move a bad contract without taking another in return, then that in itself may be beneficial, even if the assets coming back are negligible. - Doc_Sarcasm
As long as they're made by the draft, I'm good with it...the TDL would be great, but as long as they have picks at the draft, it's a plus. Next year's class is considered to be good as well.
And yes, moving a bad deal out and not taking one back is a win, for sure |

I agree, but it also helps that he's currently sliding on his ELC in the AHL. |

This is exactly what he did in his post. Attack the opinion, not the poster. The poster attacked back directly. |

Might as well give Manning and the Big Dane one last kick at a Flyers/NHL career. Hell, they've both soaked up enough dev time already.. time for some ROI. |

There's a difference between being a jackass and acting like one.
I, personally, AM a jackass, I just don't always act like one.
I said he was acting like one, not that he was one. |

Who would rather have plugged in with a bunch of slugs - a young guy with potential who could suffer a major mental setback, or a guy who is what he is already?

You know they will have at least 5-6 PP opportunities. They always seem to get one within the first 5 min at every home game. Our hopeless PK could open the floodgates tonight |

Also do we really think Hagg would see huge minutes. At least with Manning and Laurdison they might see limited minutes. I think they just want to keep Hagg where he is an not place any pressure on him to push to look good tonight. In a game like tonight he might try to make a good showing and play out of his comfort level. I don't know that is correct but just a guess. |
