Bingo.
- Feanor

I wouldn't want this particular game to be Hagg's first.

Also, that would leave only 8 games until his ELC would kick in.

So who gets hurt tonight? Since we've been losing a player a game I figured we should start a betting pool.

You must be pretty sick to want another one of dmen to get hurt. Was MacDonald at fault for any of the seven goals yesterday?

I agree, but it also helps that he's currently sliding on his ELC in the AHL.
- jmatchett383

He can play 9 NHL games this season and still slide. Hopefully these injuries to CC and Schultz are minor enough that Manning and Lauridsen aren't still here next Tuesday when we play Arizona.

That just hurts his potential trade value.

But... he's been so solid lately... while playing softer minutes than MDZ.

NOOOOO.

Because our luck it would be for the season and then on the next day after the deadline there would be a report that the Maple Leafs would have given a 1st rounder for a healthy MacDonald.

And anyone that might won't want him if he's hurt. Let's not start hoping for injuries here, people.

I'm not hoping for injuries just seeing who people think are next up for injuries due to karma, hate, love, etc.
Since we've been dropping like flies.

Wasn't implying that you were, G. It was that BiggE character.

I'll have to figure out a way to deal with him...

People wanted MacDonald out so Colaiacovo could replace him. So CC gets in and gives up two breakaway goals in three games with awful positioning, and then gets hurt again. Meanwhile MacDonald's at 52 CF% since returning from his injury and the bloggers who used to call him one of the worst dmen in the league based on Corsi stats are nowhere to be seen.

Simmonds.

We won't lose G or Jake, which would likely spell rock bottom (I don't think we've hit it) and would land us a top-5 pick. But it won't be someone inconsequential either.

He had a little help from Kulemin, pushing his skate out to the side with his stick. That's dirty pool.

Holmgren didn't inherit many long term deals, and his first full summer the Flyers had a mountain of cap space to add guys.

Hextall inherited a team that had to spend over the cap just so they could use Pronger's full LTIR exemption. It's a team that squeaked into the playoffs last year with great special teams.

I don't like the Hartnell trade either, but I get why it was done. That contract had the potential to be a major handicap in a year or two. I'm glad Hextall didn't make a short term move to add a washed up Sergei Gonchar. I'm ecstatic he didn't trade a high pick for a guy like David Perron.

Expecting Hextall to be able to do what he wants to do in one season is being highly unrealistic

- Jsaquella

I think Holmgren took over a far worse team from Clarke than Hexy did from Holmgren BUT Hexy is far more handcuffed than Holmgren was and its not even close.
