The move Hextall needs to make over the break is reassigning Berube out of the way and getting Holmgren in as interim coach. It would immediately restore some spirit to an obviously dispirited group, and would mean the guy making coaching decisions has no pressure on him to achieve short term gains at long term expense.

Did Tampa really lose Matt Carle? If this is the case, it would be great if they took a guy like Andrew MacDonald from us but I believe Carle has years the go far beyond this season.

The only guys that need signing are all rfas except for boychuk. Visnovsky will be replaced by pulock or reinhart. Frankly, I think we’re better than we’ve shown so far this year. Grabovski hasn’t been scoring although he’s playing well, JT and KO are off their pace from last year but picking it up in a big way lately and nelson and strome are only in their second seasons, and lee’s in his first complete season. We still have pulock, reinhart and dal colle coming just to name a few. If we can sign boychuk, who I believe to be a big part of our success, we’re only going to continue to get better.

Think the key distinction here is that this time around, the guy making decisions doesn't have "promoted Pierre McGuire to head coach" and "took punches to the head for a living" on his resume.
