You can't really go into a Flyers Pens game with any kind of expectations. It's always chaos and nonsense. The Flyers just bring out the worst in the Pens, and really manage to take advantage of them.
As such it's hard to use a Flyers-Pens game as a harbinger of any sort. It's just a cyclone in the middle of the schedule. - Jsaquella
I would surprised if they built anything off of that game. It's just a fluky mess when they play Pittsburgh. |

It was a great game. Thoroughly enjoyable - MJL
the only positive takeaway from the pens was paul martin in overtime.
told you that you can be a finesse penalty killer.
not that you necessarily disagreed, but that was exactly what i was talking about. |

im the last one to defend the officiating of this league. and this game was no exception.
but whatever. you should get an automatic 2 just for putting sill out there in the final minute of the game. i dont care if he doesnt touch a soul. - stayinthefnnet
Then he touches the puck coming out of the box, but honestly that was probably just a reflex, and he'll probably get blamed for the loss, but Malkin should be blamed also, he jumped off the bench, cheated early, and was on the ice when Sill was half way across the ice. |

Frack the Pens
Fixed cup in 2009, tanking for Mario Mario as owner tanking for all the draft picks
Pandered too relentlessly by the commissioner and Colon Campbell
A hole could open in the earth and swallow the Pens into molten magma and justice would still not be done in hockey |

Streit led Sill perfectly with that pass.... |

I personally think that Paul Martin is a really good player, and really underrated.

Michael Del Zotto might be the most bi-polar player the Flyers have had in some time. |

One would hope that they'd realize the emotion they need to play with, just do it a tad smarter.

he was. but still. (frank) sill. utter joke and useless player.
end of the day though. pens have no one to blame but themselves. reffing in this game sucked. but it sucked all around. they got 6 calls. did nothing with them. if you go 0 for 6 in a game you deserve to lose. plain and simple.

The hit on Voracek was just an awkward looking but totally clean hip check. Sure hip checks are a little cheeky, but really nothing wrong with them. If there was anything wrong with it, Voracek served vigilante justice plus some back on Scuderi. Rinaldo hit Letang from behind, into the boards, and left his feet. Rinaldo's a (frank)ing dangerous idiot. |

The irony of the designated tough guy getting KTFO by a veteran European player in his first NHL fight was delicious. Somewhere, Don Cherry is crying, - johndewar

Best all season. The Flyers did every thing well. PK, fight, hit, play D, goaltending, offensive opportunities. |

Exactly. Even if they played tomorrow, instead of a week from now, there's no way they carry this over, at least not to a huge degree.
I still can't muster the same level of hate for the Penguins that I have for the Rangers, but the games are more enjoyable. |

That was the most insane occurrence of the whole night. Called up a designated tough guy and he decides to square off vs a Euro softer player, prob licking his chops.. Euro knocks him down... Obviously not a good goon. |

i really thought amac could exhibit many of the same qualities for you. maybe not quite the puck mover, but he never struck me as a slouch in that category. and he had a good bit more shot blocking on his resume. |
