There is zero chance the Isles make any major moves the rest of this season.
Adding Halak, Boychuk, Leddy, Grabovski and Kulemin were their moves and the team is having its best season in 30 years.
Ek, please recalibrate your "rumors" accordingly. |

2nd or 3rd for Polak? He's been one of the hardest working players on that team...something that needs to rub off on others. Keep him. - Colin Dambrauskas

No offense to polak, but I think the leafs completely undervalued Gunnerson in that trade. - dothedougie

again it's the santo/winnik dilemma. We love these 3rd/4th liner guys who actually play the right way. In reality, Polak is a 5th D on a good team. Never been more than that on STL and he's on our 2nd pairing. i'm not saying he's crap; but i do move him for anything more than a 3rd. That's just the way i see it. He has 1 more year on his deal.
you are absolutely right about him being our only defensive D though. - clark_griswold
I dont disagree but i dont see a team offering up a 2nd for him so id rather keep him |

What's a realistic asking price (of Habs players/prospects/picks) for Yak at this point?
Also, how is his next contract going to pan out? Is he going to get paid for his recent performance or is he going to to get paid because he was a first overall pick?
I don't think those contract negotiations will be pretty. - RonPielep
Eller, Tinordi, prospect and picks is what the asking price will be. |

Doubt Edmonton would trade him for picks or prospects they need roster players at this point. I really doubt a deal could happen unless the Habs would trade Gallagher for him.... Agree his contract negotiations will be ugly. Like a short term deal to redeem himself in hopes of a bigger payday. - amazing_oilers
At the end of the day, I don't think the Habs are eyeing Yak. |

Of course. The Leafs, who only have poop players and cannot draft worth a damn, trade someone and suddenly everyone spunks over him and he's a (frank)ing rockstar.
Like when Yost banged on about Grabbo, Macca and Kulemin. All of a sudden good players apparently. |
