I get what you're saying. Overall, I think he has proved to be a valuable piece for the rebuild on the backend.

Well it also gives more time to let Ghostisbiere work on his game in the AHL next year since he missed so much time. If you sign Del Zotto you have him and Streit as two nice offensive defenseman. I also think it maybe allows you to make moves at the deadline, just say someone wanted to offer you a prospect and pick for Coburn.

If they were looking for a replacement for Rinaldo....they found him. He actually isnt that bad of a player.
- GOA88

Agree. I think you might see him on the PK at some point. I would let Rinaldo try to work on his game in the AHL with Murray. Try to remake his game so that he can be more then a wrecking ball.

Del Zotto is basically already signed. I doubt the Flyers decide to walk away in the off season if they don't trade him.

I want the Flyers to send a stronger message to Rinaldo other then what he got from the League.

I know. He is an RFA. If he isn't dealt I would like to get him signed if he continues to play like this and doesn't fall off a cliff.

Amazing what a difference it makes to win faceoffs.

3 straight and we're getting healthy.

Great game for Bryz tonight in San Jose

More then sending him down?

I guess you could send him to Edmonton. That might make him see how good he had it.

He's in the same mold of Rinaldo but without most of the stupid. He can actually play a little bit of hockey, which is rather nice. I still don't think he's part of the final answer going forward, and I think he's a healthy scratch candidate if/when Raffl and Laughton come back.

Are the Flyers able to send a player from the Flyers directly to the ECHL? I'm not sure how that process works. Can players on 2-wat NHL contracts be sent to the ECHL?

Also 2-0 since Straka has been called up, and 2-0 since we got our blizzard.

Coincidence? I think not.

Straka and White have only one less assist than Rinaldo and have played 34 less games.

That's sad. Granted, one of his assists was a very nice backhand from the corner, but still...

He was. He has been physical. Joining the rush at the right time. Getting shots on net. Was a nice low risk move by Hextall. Same with Schultz. Also I like having another faceoff guy like White. He seemed to be more acetive last night. I think he is getting more comfortable now after missing so much time.
- J35Bacher

I didn't realize that White was so good on draws.. Very impressed so far.

White, Vandevelde, Bellemare...they have so many better options than Rinaldo.

To the Flyers credit, he was a healthy scratch for awhile before injuries sort of forced them to dress Rinaldo again.

It was a fun game to watch last night. Matt Read has now put together two solid games in a row. Hopefully, he can keep that up.

Brayden schenn showed, at least to me, why is stationed in that slot on the 1st PP. I know his goal was an PP and the pass came from a different angle, but man was that a rifle of a shot. We've seen him shoot the puck like that before. He has a really underrated shot.

All in all, good to see a win.

Rinaldo (before getting tossed) was playing a regular shift due to injuries, on a line with Raffl and Simmonds. How you could put him on a line with those 2 is beyond me. At least White can play SOME hockey.

This season. Probably. If we can dump Umberger and/or Vinny. I can see him being a mainstay on the 4th line next season. Which I think is good. VDV seems to be a good player for the 4th also.

Del Zotto was outstanding last night. When that kid plays the right way, he's very effective.
- MJL

It's an odd feeling seeing a Flyer's defenseman with the puck and being confident he is typically going to create some sort of creative play offensively. He carries the puck through the neutral zone with such confidence as well.

VDV is having success, but I'm not sure how. He's very opportunistic, I guess, because if you just watch him, he doesn't look to be very good at all.
