So if Corrado keeps it up and Clendening can make an impact that means we have 4 d men 25 or younger

Canucks prospects all did well last night too. Except for Mackenzie Stewart and PA. Lost 10-1 to the hit men. Virtanen with a couple of points. Second round pick in this years draft I nominate Ryan Gropp from the Seattle thunderbirds. Cassels with two goals.

What do people think of this D-man we have playing for Kingston name Mceneny.

they were doing a profile on Lawson Crouse and he got brought up.

Apparently he is under contract, thanks to gillis, and has decent numbers.

Decent size as well.

I didn't know anything about this kid.

One more item of note, that I just spotted.

As I mentioned earlier in the week, Gino Odjick was at last night's game—and could be around more going forward.

Very positive news on his health in this Ed Willes column:

One wouldn't expect the New York Islanders to be impressed by Chad Johnson's performance in a 4-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
Johnson allowed four goals despite only facing 19 shots. This was just his third full appearance in January as his record fell to 6-6-0 with a woeful .865 save percentage. Jaroslav Halak should expect to continue to carry a heavy workload going forward.

There is a fit there, but I can't see them giving up much for a fairly unproven backup.

I bet there at least some in this league that believe that Lack can be a starter. His numbers aren't that bad, and he was pretty good for a woeful Canucks squad last season.

No doubt that there's teams that are interested in Lack, or Markstrom for that matter, but you can't expect them to give up much of value to take a chance on a guy. It's the same thing with Kassian. I'm sure that lots of teams would like to help him reach his potential, they just won't overpay to do it. It's like the free taste tests at Costco: you might find something that you like, and ultimately buy, but you wouldn't pay just to try them.

haha awesome costco metaphor. I'm hoping they can land Yakupov or a player in a similar situation. When Neidereitter (sp) was having a hard time sticking with the islanders, the wild took a chance on him; it worked out for them.

Any team that wants to win needs solid goaltending, I think that much has been established. Take that angle with the Edmonton Oilers of the world, and we might just be able to get some value from our depth in net.

I hope that you are right, because it seems pretty clear that one goalie will have to go. I would be stunned if it's to Edmonton though. They went the same route going into this season and it (frank)ed them.

Hey guys, first post here. Though I have been reading the Canucks blogs and comments for some time.

I doubt we would get someone from Edmonton. It is very hard to get a top 6 forward from within the same division unless the player is forcing. Edmonton would not want to give us something that would make us a huge threat once they fix their team and start pushing for playoffs. As the Arizona GM said "when you’re sitting with our record, and we’re three or four worst records in the league, then everybody is up for grabs.” With this we could assume Carolina is thinking the same thing. Maybe we can use this to make a trade attempt on Jeff Skinner. His numbers last year were top six with a fairly bad team, and with his play this year price may have dropped a little bit. Give up some young players and vets for a young play? Just a though.

With the controversy about next years cap, Bettman said in an interview yesterday during intermission of the Canucks game that the lowest he could see it go would be $71,750,000 or so, but will likely stay around $72m. Hopefully this puts a rest to all the bickering about next years cap for the time being.
