It wasn't meant as a total insult, lol. After all, Sestito did score 40+ goals for Plymouth in his D+1 year. - Tomahawk
Which blows the theory of some that because Lawson Crouse isn't a point per game player this year in juniors that he can't be a good NHL player.
I mean Sestito was a point per game player his last year with Plymouth and well he was terrible at the NHL level. |

That's what scares me off the Nick Ritchie, Kassian, Tom Wilson types... huge bodies can mask a lot of deficiencies at that level.
Crouse is definitely not like them, tho. |

I think people are just worried he'll end up being like, well, Zach Kassian. |

That's part of doing their homework into scouting him, if that's what they believe then don't pick him, if they look at everything and say he's got potential then the choice is obvious. |

When someone compares Zack Kassian to PEB, it's pretty clear they don't have a good grasp on the type of players that Kassian is. Zack Kassian is basically a bigger Steve Downie. My only concern would be him pulling a Zac Rinaldo on a player. |

"Pulling a Rinaldo" is a smoke the brakes I'm stamping on them so hard kind of phrase for me when included in a trade proposal. |

Yeah, just meant in terms of the questions about offensive upside playing out. |

We all know some players can carry a team & others usually are better with the right set of linemates.
The later is the likely one for many NHL players |

If we could somehow trade back and add a first round pick and then get J. Roy and Meier I'd be very happy.
if the Flyers put Rinaldo on waivers and he clears can they stash him in the minors with no future cap hit? His 850K might be needed. - jstross

Not saying it's a fair comparison but I can see why, on the surface, people don't want that. |

Drafting isn't perfect so yes they'll miss on some including 1st rounders.

Yup. Let's hope the Flyers aren't one of the teams that inevitably miss in the top 15 this year. Let's also hope for a few steals in the later round. I know we all will be. |

I meant in terms of where they'd fit in a lineup. 3rd/4th line players. Their games aren't similar. |

Late and dirty hits happen all the time. Physical players are never going to be perfect. The difference is Zack Kassian can play and reckless hits is all Rinaldo has to offer.
Zack Kassian is only 23 years old. He plays a more similar style to Steve Downie. Kassian was a good juniors player. He was teammates with Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn in the 2011 world juniors. So I ask, what's the difference between waiting for Zack Kassian to develop, the same way we're waiting on Schenn and Couturier? Some fans are calling out our players to be cowards. I thought at the beginning of the season we should have signed Steve Ott. Now we lack in physical play. I think Kassian fills a need. I don't expect him to be a top six forward but he helps bring back a physical edge. |
