All I'm saying is that he is no sure thing. As of right now I would not expect him to put up 20G |

Seriously?? You listed the just top guys...Ladd, Wheeler, Buff...are they top scorers?? No...so how do you want them to play?? They play the western style game, fast and hard! If you don't like that game, then that's too bad. We don't have goons, the closest might be Peluso...but if you actually watched more than 1 game, you would know he is no goon. The penalties are comical, 50 % earned, 50 % garbage! It's been going on for a while like that. But all that really matters is will they make the playoffs or not....and if we do, I would much rather have the JETS lineup going in a 7 game series than your Canucks. - mblava
Hate to be the one to break it to you, neither team is going 7 games in the playoffs. |

I could see that. Both teams have speed, skill, size, edge (dirty). No way they can compare with that roster as is on paper right now though. Maybe in a couple of years - bezz44
The yr they won the cup. They said ducks are the only team that lead the league in pins and won the cup. And that wpg doesn't have the horses to do it |

I was throwing it out there. Its not a slam dunk. Guy has better skill then the majority of our players |

Not yet at least. And they are going to need a legit starting goaltender somewhere down the line, but I like their team, though I do not like E Kane |

I certainly wouldn't acquire him to be a 2C. If we pick him up IMO it would be to permanently take the 3C slot unless he has a breakout season at 27 y/o - bezz44
Not for about $4m per. |

Then I wouldn't pick him up at all. Shouldn't be on the 2nd line unless you are icing something akin to CHI's second line where 2/3 of the players could easily play on a top line |

I hadn't heard that before. Great stuff.
Makes me picture Vigneault's giggle-fit from that day behind the bench in Dallas when Vern Fiddler was making funny faces, mocking Bieksa.
Safe to say, at this point Kenins ≠Wellwood! |

Not overly physical or offensively productive. Only has 16 points this year and is making just shy of 4 mil. Would add some size to the lineup but I don't think it's a huge win. I'd almost rather have Matthias at 1.85m if he signs for his current salary - bezz44
Do they have cap issues going forward? Maybe higgins straight up if they got desperate. They had a deal done for Garrison for Berglund..... So that is the same as a mid round 2nd rounder for value.

I don't think they are copying anyone. Much faster than Boston, much more physical than Chicago. Throw in Ehlers/Petan and that will add that much more skill to the lineup. I think your strength right now is the blueline but once some youth comes up/develops I think WPG will be a very fun team to watch - bezz44

I don't know about cap issues but I do know that they have traditionally been a budget team more concerned about salary than cap so maybe Higgins would work |

We need top 6 forwards not dmen and i doubt they would give Bennett for higgins alone. We need a 24/25 y/o top 6 player now, not a possible top 6 in 2 years. Unless we are going ot tank the season, then by all means. |

Berglund at 4 mill is pretty much a cap dump if he is playing bottom 6.... No better then Burrows.

I would add something small to Higgins but otherwise I would look elsewhere. We can't afford the premium it would cost for a recently emerged top 6 fwd. We need to be looking at roster logjams (someone like Dmitrij Jaskin) or just picks. Losing some of our depth won't result in a tank, we might end up a spot or 2 lower but who cares we aren't contending |

I think we have a bit of a log jam at bottom 6 fwd anyways... Losing Higgins wouldn't be losing much |
