Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review vs. Winnipeg Jets: Bring It On
The Vancouver Canucks impressed with their determination and got key contributions from rookie Ronalds Kenins and defenseman Luca Sbisa as they came from behind to defeat the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night at Rogers Arena. - Carol Schram
Vantel has some merit to his observations...this present team is as soft as a popcorn fart. |

It was nice to have Rogers Arena buzzing a bit, the game certainly was exciting and physical. Kenins and Dorsett are great 4th line wingers, always skating hard pushing the pace aggressively.
I disagree with the powerplay being a mess. The first few had really good looks, better shot placement and they would've gone 25% for the night. The John's were right that it let them down in the 3rd where they were down and really needed one |

Jets are thugs who are dumb and can't play hockey.
They are trying to copy Boston and Chicago, yet they lack a few key players. They don't have a Toews, Kane, Bergeron, Keith, Seabrook, Hossa, Krejci, Marchand, Lucic type player. They have goons who are dumb as sh1t.
Their star players are Ladd, Wheeler and Enstrom. Good luck with that.
Those penalties they kept taking were comical. Peluso shouldn't be in the NHL. Bogosian is a total bust, guy will never live up to the hype. |

Sorry the PP is a mess. This is a result driven league and close only counts in horseshoes and grenades
When was the last time Hank won the draw to start a PP. It is a drawn up play by the other team , beat the slow centre on the draw pass it back behind the net fire it down the ice . 20 seconds gone automatically |

We suck on face offs as a whole. That should be one of benning main targets in the summer.
Is Gaunce a decent for man in Utica?
Horvat should be the 3rd line center next season with a great for man as the 4th. Jay McClement? |

A mess is when you can barely sustain zone time or generate zero shots on net, which they are completely capable of doing. Last night however was noticeably better, they moved the puck cross seam with confidence and worked it around to open a few slot shots.
That being said, I wish Hank would figure out why he cant receive passes anymore. Puck bounces off his stick on any pass that isn't a subtle drop pass |

Every PP had the same start last night with a loss draw and puck fired down the ice.
They went 0 for ? last night. I counted at least 8 penalties.
They have been called out about their PP two games in a row by different broadcasters .
Valk came out and said Daniel does not belong on the first PP unit.
Doug McLean came out and said the Sedins have to be less predictable and have a sense of urgency and stop all this passing.
I don't have the numbers but are they like 2 of their last 50 tries.
That is a mess. |

All true with some exaggeration. But I think that roster would fare better in a playoff situation than our roster. Boy, some of their players can really drive the net. |

Not to mention they don't have a Rask or Crawford.
Pavelec is awful.
I never exaggerate. |

Last five games:
J. Hansen 0g, 0a, 0p, -2, 7 shots average TOI 14.5 min
R. Kenins 2g, 0z, 2p, +2, 6 shots average TOI 9.66 min
It's only 3 games, but if you want to get younger, change the culture yadda yadda, Hansen goes at the deadline (unless they plan to move Kassian). |

Don't know about Gaunce - VANTEL
Gaunce has been playing very well in Utica but primarily as a winger. Most of what I have read suggests he will be a NHLer and while it would be really nice to have another guy in the middle with size but I think he will likely be a winger.
He has less talent than Jensen but uses his size more effectively and while I'm not predicting Gaunce makes the NHL ahead of Jensen or Virtanen, I wouldn't be surprised either. |

for the next couple games i hope there smart to put kassian in, bench higgins or hansen, kassian is more noticable then them, and wont leave dorsett as the only fighter, and ive said this before but why isnt our best faceoff guy on our power play |

Hansen and Higgins remain the most realistic trade options and I am all for moving some vets at the deadline but I don't think Benning and Co. will.
Kenins has been great, but lets not get too excited yet, take a small sample size of any player during a cold streak and they will look disappointing vs a 2 game, 2 goal performance. |

I don't disagree they have problems, I just don't think its a catastrophe that appears to be the mood around here. Puck movement is important and they did that last night, they just need to shoot for a corner and not the goalie's chest
