Everyone wants to trade Tanev. Dude is about to hit his stride, he's going to be signed to a long term affordable contract, and is arguably our best defenceman. I wouldn't trade him unless the offer was to good to be true.

Yikes, if that would be the case, I would personally carry Higgins, Kassian, Hansen to the airport. Unfortunately it ain't gonna happen.

As far as Kane, apparently he isn't going anymore, despite his off-ice issues. It seems that Maurice has a lot of control and is ultimately the decision maker as to how to handle Kane. As one of the Winnipeg hockey writers said today on TSN, there is no way they are moving Kane unless the deal has quite a number of high end pieces going the other way

The team is creating competition with young players for a roster spot at various positions. When is the last time that happened? Depth is still an issue but WD & JB will give a kid a chance to win/or loose a big league job. As they should.

The point of this was to reiterate that the cost is very high for top 6 guys, yet we somehow think Kassian (benched more games then played) Higgins (Worst 2nd line player in NHL this year) Hansen (Speed to burn with stone hands) would get us a top 6 player. If these things are all true then why would we want him? If he is indeed worth having, then WPG is not going to want our misfit pieces for their top 6 fwd.
