Cassels and McCann are great in the circle.
- Bieksa#3

I am Cassels curious... We keep hearing about McCann, but Cassels, by his numbers, looks like he is doing pretty good too.

They both sound like they have some edge to their game.

Cassels probably tops out as a 3rd line center. Has a mean streak too. McCann is much like horvat. Very polished, great 2 way

If these things are all true then why would we want him? If he is indeed worth having, then WPG is not going to want our misfit pieces for their top 6 fwd. I am trying really hard to stomach the constant quantity for quality proposals that get put together on here but the gastrointestinal lining can only take so much poison before you start puking up verbal expletives

How long did we put up with Kesler for?

I don't really get your point. His sideshow crap certainly didn't make us a better team

I think his dad even said he'd likely be a 3rd line kind of player

Just another day of xbox GM.
- Marwood

I'm pretty sure that even Xbox would reject these trade proposals. You can add an infinite amount of third liners, it still doesn't equal a top six player.

If that is the case, I could live with that. Just hope he continues to develop and finds a spot with the club.

Kesler's Shot. Kesler's defensive ability. Better hands than Kesler.

Damn, I hope this kid can fulfill his potential.

Pens looking for a 3rd liner apparently
Something like Higgins for Bennett/Dumoulin?

Bennett is a modern Sami Salo. Dude can't stay healthy.

I usually add a 1st round pick from a draft 5 years down the road. Usually does the trick for me

Bundle and trade for picks, bundle picks for better picks. eventually it works out. then just sign useless UFA's to replenish the farm. Wish this could work irl instead of just the video game.

His dad was a 1-2 centre. I'd project the same for Cole.

How come every centre we have in our system is projected as a third line centre?

Brad Richardson is a (frank)ing third line centre.

One thing i find odd about certain projections nowadays is that any center who has the ability to play both defense and offense is labelled as, most probably, a bottom six forward. Kesler, Bergeron, O'Reilly, M-Koivu, Bozak, Pavelski, Plekanec etc etc etc are just a few examples of guys who were labeled as serviceable bottom six Cs back in the day.

I don't think there's a logical manner in which to project a kid's entire future at the age of 17-18-19. We try our best but at the end of the day it's completely and totally luck/random/circumstance.

Now to completely contradict my above point, i think Cassels and McCann have both (so far) demonstrated a nice trajectory in terms of development of which; could potentially yield a top six C if continued

I even heard in an interview his father Andrew project him as a 3rd liner. Pigeon holed by his own dad...

Horvat, Gaunce, Cassels, McCann all projected to top out at 3rd line centre. Why even take Horvat at the 9th pick in the first round then? Trade the pick for Bozak or Kadri, at least they are 1st and 2nd line centres.

Makes no sense, all these projections are (frank)ing stupid. So someone in the 5th round, what's he projected at? Oh hey, it's Pavel Datsyuk, guess the projections didn't work that time.

Didn't like that Demko was chosen in the second round and we might be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for Marstrom or Lack...
