The way I feel about defenseman is that they don't have to be special in all 3 zones just really good in the defensive zone. Maybe 1 3rd pair dman who is capable of qb'ing the pp |

You clearly work with way too many DOT engineers. John Dougherty, perhaps. - TheSabresTaco
I do a ton of "State work" .
Trust me when I tell you, they know their poop. (DOT engineers)
They just know if I am on site, it will be done right.
It's some of the private firm (piddly school jobs) ones that annoy the piss out of me.
They don't know half of what they think they know ON SITE!
They read spec books from the 70's and 80's until I tell them that there are revised editions, go purchase one and then come and talk to me about your 1 on 12 elevations.

I still think they should keep Pysyk, even if he doesn't fit the "huge and tough" mold Murray's going for. They still need a guy who can throw the puck to the forwards without giving it away. Gorges, Weber, and Zadorov can't do that. - CaptainRivet
me too...but he'll be walking into a situation where there are some big boys on the blueline and hopefully it will help him progress |

Pysyk is intriguing enough to keep around for a year or two more. I've heard people on the board say he hasn't looked good in Rochester this year, and a couple say he has looked good. People seem to like him and think he's smooth and with no other offensive defenseman on the team/in the pipeline I don't see any reason to trade him.

He and Ristolainen lit up the AHL the year before. They were dominant, so I hope Richardson can pair them up next season. |

I wouldn't really consider Pysyk an offensive defenseman. He's more of a defensive defenseman with a great outlet pass. |

I like both him and McCabe, but I have a feeling Murray will want to fill the #6 spot with a big veteran. |

How dare you insinuate that Teddy Nolan, the blue collar testament of class, be gone from behind the bench!

the only thing to be weary about with him is taking the reigns offensively...when he was sent down last season, murray wanted him to work on being more aggressive offensively...to this point he still seems timid and likes his defensive-defenseman shell...other than that, he's solid |

He'll be "promoted", and everything will be hunky-dory. |

For all the hate that Lydman used to get around here, I didn't have too many issues with him. He definitely had the same tendency that Smehlik had of taking a terrible penalty while in the offensive zone at the most inopportune time though. |

Heh yeah.. no I hear ya, desk jockeys don't know poop about the job site. I'm not at all ignorant to the dichotomy of the construction world.
I mean, I'd love if as-builts for infrastructure were remotely close to the design, but there's always variables as to why it's not or can be. As long as the poop flows down the line, I give it the thumbs up haha |

I recall one game when there was like 10 seconds in overtime and a player went in on miller...instead of hauling him down, lydman let him go in to score...
anyone remember that, or is my mind a bit off? |
