Ennis, Pysyk, Grigo, Risto/Reinhart and six more pieces like that for Hall?
Jeezuz H.
I don't even know what to say. - grand-magus
Now you're mixing posts. In my original post I said that you would have to sub Risto or Reinhart into that proposal for Edmonton to not laugh in your face. If I could trade a couple of second line forwards (Ennis, Gringo) and a second pairing D (Pysyk) I'd make that all day long if we had to only add in some other medium-worth pieces.

Maybe Neuvirth next year having a shot with who ever they bring in, but God NO to Hackett or Linback! - Irish 14
Lindback/Hackett will most likely be our backups next year. After that no way they should be gone. Unless one of them decides to be good all of a sudden. Martin Jones, Ortio are guys that we could target possibly I agree |

If we finish last I think the whole Hall conversation is moot because at that point we would be looking for a top-line winger and not a top-line center. |

IMO when talking about Hall and Kessel, the pieces that would be needed to acquire them are more than we are willing to want to give. |

Aren't they both UFA's? I think Hackett is depending on playing time. I don't see him coming back. I think Lindback is here because 1) He helps the "effort" and 2) Dallas made us take him

I don't understand how it's moot then? Hall's a winger. |

We beat Kessel to death on friday. I saw a great article this morning (can't remember where I saw it) that speculates that only about 5 teams would be able to bring him in because of his cap. Of course, not all 5 will want to bring him in. |

Argh, thanks. I always forget that. I'd rather pay more to get him than spend less to get Kessel. |

IMO guys like Simmonds, Eriksson, and Sharp (guys on teams with severe cap issues) are how they are going to fill one of the RW positions. |

Let's have a discussion on the Sabres goalie situation. My thought is maybe Martin Jones from Kings, I want Gibson from Anahiem but not sure on asking price?
Hopefully starting next year and beyond we might finally be filling the net, but who going to stop the puck At our end. - Irish 14
Edwards and Sauve.

Simmonds and Eriksson are probably not top-wingers (although I like them). I don't know that Sharp is but I think he is too old.

They are so is Neuvirth. I'm just assuming we are resigning them all since there isn't much out there right now anyways. I think Hackett gains UFA status if we dont play him a certain amount of games. But who the is going to sign him anyways if he does. He could easily be let go after this year anyway. I see the Amerks starting next year with Ullmark and Makarov as the goalies. |

It starts and ends at they will want our 2015 1st.
Look at what it just took to get Kane and Bogosian. Kessel is an already established 30+ goal scorer.
Again IMO if you bring in a guy making 8 mil on the cap, you set the bar for what your youngsters are going to be making sooner rather than later.
I'd pass on Kessel as I feel Phanuef gets moved and alleviates any cap issues for them. |

I could see Neuvirth coming back because Murray traded for him once and obviously likes him. I think that we would roll the dice trying to find the next Dubnyk (a guy that had a high ceiling that lost his way). Lindback was like that at one point but I think that ship sailed. I'd rather take my chances with someone else.

if they give away jones as cheaply as they did bernier, I am all for trading for jones in the offseason. |

You need a 1st and 2nd line guy.
Honestly a top line of Kane/McEichel/Eriksson would be real fun to watch.
My dark horse to get moved at the trade deadline is Ennis. Not that I want him gone, I just have that feeling. |

They aren't moving him because they have cap issues. They want pieces back in exchange for getting rid of gigantic process. Scorched earth. |

I don't disagree Im just saying it wouldn't shock me if he made that move or something similar to it. |

To get those guys you would absolutely have to move our current 2nd liners. I do kind of know what you mean about Ennis and I thought the same. He seemed to be the only holdover that Murray seems to maybe kind of like but he still doesn't fit the mold. |

Eriksson hasn't been a top line forward since 2012
2012-2013 29 pts 48 gp
2013-2014 37 pts 61 gp
2014-2015 31 pts 54 gp
He'll be 30 next year and though i hate to say it of any player, he's one solid hit away from being in serious trouble. |
