I hear a lot of this from Edmonton fans but I don't understand it, he was a great coach for our marlies, took them to back to back conference champions. Did he just suddenly become a bad coach?

Not a bad coach.....just the wrong coach....he got the team so wound up and afraid to make a mistake.....plus I just don't think he is very likeable.

Yeah.....I think certain coaches are liked by certain players. Coaches value different things so a Plumbers coach like Eakins or MacTavish sometimes struggle to relate to talented, offensively gifted players all the while being loved by the lunch pail gang. We've seen this plenty of times throughout history.

That was a clever shot , good for you, but whether you like them or not it's hard to call Hall,Nuge ,Ebs or Yak plumbers.

Plumbers isn't a derogatory term, it's used to describe not so flashy hard working players that get by on Hard work and effort because they don't have the talent to rely on. Guess what? You're favorite team has them too.

A small Russian floater who is still a question mark yet would command a lot from EDM in return. I'd take my chances with someone else.

Agreed. Derek Roy is the biggest factor in Yak's improved play IMO. He is a veteran that has produced some stability for Yak. Nelson is helping too but not as much as Roy is.

Disagree, consistent linemates, playing on his proper wing and not being berated for every little mistake is what is helping him the most. Roy is a big factor was well though, but the biggest imo is the coach.

Well I guess ultimately but Nelson wanted to swap out Yak and Purcell on the top line before Yak asked him to reconsider and keep him with Purcell. It seems he found a mentor..... Nobody can really say for sure but I'll take Yaks perspective.
