Horvat has 15 min a night rookie year. If you bump it up to 20 min a night you will risk injury or burn out.

It his last 11 games that he is producing at this rate. The first part of the year he had very little offense. His game is developing just fine and if he keeps up this pace , I am sure he will be rewarded soon.

11 min a game he has played. 1106 not 15 to be accurate. So what's the deal with the other kids then?

Says Horvat 15.51 last night

I am not sure what you mean what's the deal with the other kids?

Vey and Sbisa have been progressing nicely IMO

If you mean why are they playing instead of Kassian? I am sure Ruff AV Torts and WD have their reasons, but as you know , that is very seldom ever public knowledge

Vey had 10.47 of ice time

But he was producing then. Listen, Sbisa has been given away by how many teams? Does that make him worse then kassian
If horvat get 15 min in one game does it mean he's playing 15 min a night or on a particular night? Its like me saying Higgins scores every night, other then the nights that he doesnt
And Vey makes as many mistakes as kassian

His ice time has been increasing as of late and so has his performance.

I have no idea what Kassian does in the room, out of the room , in practice , at nighttime or any where else. I know what he does on the ice.

To me he is ok some nights , good others and invisible others. I think he gets too much media attention for a player that does so little to whether we win or lose.

He is not part of the core and as an outsider I see him as more of a distraction , and that has no bearing on his play.

I will be honest , if WD plays him ,fine. If WD doesn't play him ,fine too.

So why is Vey and Sbisa allowed to make mistake after mistake but kassian(now that he is producing not like in the past) sits?

That's what I was thinking about Kenins... Kenins' plays a game I thought Kassian was going to bring.

Kenins - 6'-0" 201lbs

Kassian - 6' 3" 215lbs

WD Benning and Kassian would know that answer, not us.

Bo is a rookie. Edmonton has shown us year after year what happens when you throw rookies into the deep end time and time again. It does not end well.

Also, why are you comparing a d-man to Kassian. Are you that thick?!?

Furthermore as mentioned by numerous people.... MISTAKES AND LACK OF EFFORT ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. If players are making mistakes, but learning from those and working on getting better, with a good team attitude, they are given the benefit of the doubt. When they make mistakes and they're cocky, arrogant, and drop f-bombs in interviews, they sit their ass in the press box.

1+1=2

*edit* Kassian seems to have an enormous sense of entitlement which has by no means been earned.

I will play Devils Advocate. He plays the PK just like Higgins , is probably about 4 years younger . He needs 6 more goals in 27 games to reach the 20 mark, but we don't want to pay him half a million more than Higgins who is sitting on 6 goals .

We want to trade him for a second round pick to get a draft pick who might hopefully play in the NHL and score 20 goals.

Matthias has been utilized properly this year with the Canucks unlike in FLA and seems to be finding his game on a much more frequency. He fits in well with the team and is the teams second leading goal scorer.

Sorry I say sign him

Horvat has been averaging 14:39 since the San Jose Sharks game when WD said that Bo was the only Canuck that showed up and had that team meeting. Prior to that he was getting 8-12 minutes a game.

I think its quite clear by WD/ JB's comments and actions that effort and a team first attitude are paramount.

you're asking for proof of something that clearly cannot be proven, jack arse.

can you PROVE that the moon controls the tides?

Because Kassian is making mistakes that players of nearly 200 career games shouldn't be making, the point is when will he figure it out if he hasnt already?

Sbisa is a different story, defense is notoriously difficult position to transition to the NHL level. That being said he has sat plenty and in a healthy lineup he is taking the 5/6/7 spot depending on the opponent

Yes.

He was forced by benning to put horvat on the team. And honestly I still think horvat should be used more.
Think about it the young guys who get a shot are the guys he knows. Sits Corrado for Weber or Stanton or Sbisa.
Vey is the only kid who constantly is allowed to make mistakes. There might be some AV in willie

Is it a known fact that WD was FORCED to put Horvat on the team?

A friend of mine was Medicine Hat's captain at the time WD took over there. He is also one of the biggest Canucks fans I've ever met. He wrote this open letter urging the Canucks to hire WD BEFORE WE HIRED TORTS

http://blogs.theprovince....-coach-willie-desjardins/

Players don't go to bat for coaches like that especially years after the fact, if they are the type to hold grudges and feel the need to have a "whipping boy"...

Many of WD ex players still have high praises for him. He seems very likeable.

I doubt that he had it in for Kass because it was something personal but I have nothing to back it up .

It is my speculation, but I am sure glad he is the coach.

I usually like Tony Gs insight but today he was way off.

He basically just accused Kenins and Dubinsky of being the same type of player ( cheap shot artist ) as Matt Cooke.
