Craig Berube may not be Scotty Bowman, but it was time to move some pieces around and while I would not have inserted Zac Rinaldo into the lineup, everyone likely knew that it was going to happen at some point
I agree with the other changes, and I think Couturier-Voracek might be a really good thing
FINALLY THAT DUNCE BERUBE SPLITS UP G AND JAKE. As sad as it is to see, it just had to happen. EVERY team in the league learned how to shut those two down.

all good points. That's the chance you take. just because other teams haven't moved doesn't mean you wait though.
Though realistically looking at the flyers dman who much more is their value going to really increase? I don't think much if any at all. None of the flyers guys are difference makers where a GM will overpay imo. At least overpay enough to make you want to wait. Is there a chance they could get desperate sure. I would just rather do the deal now if that is what hextalls intention is; more things could go wrong than right with the flyers luck!!!!

Value is what another team thinks is value. Nashville picked up Franson. They were already playing well but now they bolstered their team for the playoffs. They also took a piece away from teams like LA, Anaheim and others in the west. If LA gets Yandle or Petry or Sekerja, now maybe Anaheims thinks they need someone like oburn and pay more because they know maybe SJ or Vancouver has interest in him.
Yes thi8ngs can go wrong and I could be totally wrong. But I think waiting would allow you to maybe get teams to get despereate if they miss on getting a piece they wanted.
The change in the top two lines really pretty logical. Jake has played well with Cooter and Read and that line was even more effective over a longer period of time. Not as a pure offensive threat, but as a two way threat. This could actually be what is needed to get all three of these players going.
Giving G both Raffl and Simmonds is interesting. Both are fast and strong on the puck and are capable of creating space. That is the one thing that G has not been able to have much of at all since the All Star break.
IMHO I do not understand dressing Rinaldo. I don't care if Vinny is playing like a dead horse or if you only have 11 forwards. Rinaldo is not an NHL player and should not be occupying space on the roster.
So upcoming games against Nashville and Washington .... makes sense to insiert # 36 back in the line up. Neither of those teams have PP weapons that will hurt us when he takes a dumb penalty or two. #sarcasm - PhiFaninEdm

The only reason why Rinaldo is playing is because Lecavalier is a complete waste of time. A one dimensional offensive player who has now gone a mind numbing 19 consecutive games without a goal.

Yandle is, for sure. I think it's hard to argue that Petry is much better than anything the Flyers have. He is a solid defenseman but I wouldn't say he is more valuable than Coburn, MDZ or Streit. But they do serve different roles so I guess it's hard to say what teams would be willing to pay for him. Plus Petry is injured so he might not get traded at all at this point

Nashville got those two guys for a STEAL. A first, a prospect I've never heard of, and olli jokinen? for a guy who on most teams could fill a #1 d spot? and a solid 3rd line player whose having his best year? Nashville made way like bandits on that deal I personally think.
Can someone explain how "Byfuglien" is pronounced "Buff-lin" and not "By-fug-lee-en? The letters aren't even in the right spot, not to mention the excessive letters.
