While everyone gets their panties in a bunch over Rinaldo playing, mind you I dont think he should be, Im interested to see if Couturier actually does something now.
Hopefully having Jake and a better playing Read will now give him some threats so we can actually see what he can do offensively. Would be great for the future of this team if he can contribute offensively as we already know he is solid defensively. - opeth_pa
I'm looking forward to seeing that also. What will be interesting is how the lines are going to deployed on zone starts. Voracek starts in the OZ around 64% of the time, and Couturier starts in the OZ about 40% of the time.

Doubt it. Boedker is the kind of guy that would be a great fit on the 2nd line. Reminds me a lot of where Jake was at before being dealt.
Maybe swap out one of the 3rds for a 2nd if you don't think its enough. - hereticpride
Why do you doubt it? B Schenn and Boedker are very similar as players. How is Boedker so much better that we're basically giving away Luke Schenn?

The Schenns for Boedker and some picks would be fine by me.
Arizona has two 3rds( theirs and Minne's).
The Schenns for Boedker and two 3rds. Make it so. - hereticpride
Can probably get more...people have this love for Boedker, and he is a talented player, I'm just not sure he's that great. Over the last three seasons, he's got 5 more points than Brayden Schenn. He's a more natural winger and he's got electric moves, but the scoring punch hasn't been there, at least not much more than the guy they'd be trading away.
I just don't see it as a good move to deal that much and get a guy who is just another inconsistent young scorer. |

My thoughts exactly. Brayden and Boedker is an even swap; beneficial cause we need wings and they need pivots.
Luke is worth way more than two thirds |

Giving away an overpaid 3rd pairing d-man.
Not sure you find positive trade value for Luke. |

Swapping guys because of positonal needs. Helps both teams get better.
Equal talent in terms of skill and pedigree. Boedker is producing on a stingy defensive team as basically the lone scoring threat. He's never played with anyone half as good as Giroux or Voracek.
I like him because he's a burner. If we do ANYTHING this summer, they need to get more skill on the wings and defense and increase speed up and down the line up. We're just way to slow overall as a team. |

He gets at least a 2nd and a decent prospect based on his age alone |

They need an offensive catalyst for the 2nd line, preferably with some speed and on the left wing.

Sell some of that poop to the other GM's of the league.
Drafted 2008. Played how many seasons? Are we will waiting for him to grow? Get real the guy blows. What top 10 NHL team would willingly employ him? |

There's 30 teams in the League. This is the problem sometimes. Situations are often overblown. There is a middle ground. Defense is at a premium.

You've expressed nothing other than an opinion? Luke Schenn is a decent top4 defensemen when paired with a solid partner. |

I've said before how I'm interested in both Etem and Silfverberg. Two guys I think would fit in here tremendously.
Only issue is I'm pretty sure both guys are better at RW. Still.....

I could probably get on board with that. I think they might be able to get more for Luke Schenn than a couple of thirds, though. |
