I heard WD sound like Torts a few times this season and it has always been about effort and consistency. If you have one good game, good effort, driving the net, then why aren't you doing it in the next game and the one after that?

Players show what they can do and it is part of the coaches job to help them to repeat and elevate their play. Kassian shows it and then disappears and is scratched, then when he gets into the lineup again, he has another good showing.

People want to see Kassian succeed. I think WD wants him to succeed. Maybe he will play harder and be scratched less because of this approach.

Does consistency come with age or effort? The coach wants to see the effort. Which has been frustrating at times when others in the lineup have shown the same but still don't get scratched.

Yes, I agree, that is the frustration with younger players - including of course Kassian. I have faith that WD will be able to finally get Kassian to play a more consistent and 200 foot game, but what I was saying is, I think an organization has to remain patient with these types of younger players. At this point in the career, I believe a lot of it is confidence, and it's tough to embrace that when you are scratched every second game. That said, I'm sure WD knows just a little more than I do lol so will defer to his player strategies. I just don't want to see the organization give up on what is still a work in progress (but one that will reap significant rewards down the road)

Not bitter, just tired of WD not holding everybody equally accountable. If he were scratching Higgins or Vey for their poor play it wouldn't be as

I scratch my head a little on this too but the fact is that Kassian is producing points, being a presence and only screwing up a little compared to a lot in the middle of these scratchings.

I'm sure WD thinks he's getting results with the scratches while some of the fans ask why he's scratching him doing a productive stretch. It just depends where one's standing more than anything.

Question is. And I hate suggesting this.

Does JB or TL have a word in what WD does or is he to freelance as he pleases.

I would hope not. Especially with TL, Hes more of a Salesman than anything.

In front of cameras and mics recently, JB has been patting Kassian on the back and yet WD has been dismissive of Kassian's better games.

They need to play him to elevate his value if JB wants to trade him so it would be wise to insist. If they are not in a hurry to move him then let the coach take care of the project and step back.

WD wants to make decisions based on winning 1 game at a time... it's not an uncommon situation that's for sure.

We just got back from seeing McFarlane. At the end of the movie there was a round of applause. Not sure I remember a movie where the viewers clapped at the end.

I think LA has cemented themselves as a play off team tonight, and As a top 6.

They have won 7 straight. and they get hot every year about this time.

Vancouver
Calgary
Winnipeg
Minny
San Jose
Dallas

All 6 fighting for 2 spots........ Going to get interesting.

You must have missed the conversation a page or 2 back. Only have beer tonight.

Regarding the applause in the theatre; the only time I have experienced that was the opening night for Goldeneye, but it took place after the opening sequence. Was pretty epic. I could have left after the car chase with the Aston Martin DB5 and the Ferrari 355GTS driven by Femke Janssen just after the opening and would have been happy with the price of admission. Thankfully I stuck around for the tank chase through St. Petersburg.

Dallas will fall out b/c of the Seguin injury, everybody else is seperated by 2 points....the Canucks no longer have games in hand either.

One of my beer league teammates played junior for WD. He's not a fan of big willie's style; says he is a total wiener if you aren't in his good books.

Hmmm, was I not saying this yesterday? I think this is blatantly obvious

He really hasn't been the same player since his last concussion but I would still take him in a heartbeat.

I imagine the price would be astronomical due to what is rumoured they are asking for Sekera.

He has missed a lot of time due to injury, and has not been as productive. He also has 4 years left which they may want to rid his contract

I see him as more of a fit for a team like Boston. They seem to be in a spot to move more players for him. I think he is more of an east coast hockey player.

I have been waiting to see Jensen on the big club all season. If he slots in I predict a goal and an assist. He better get second line minutes.

I don't see them taking on his 6 mil contract. They need to re-sign some Free Agents in the summer and little cap room
