You forgot the part where Kassian sucks. - Feds91Stammer
I'd rather have an underachieving 24 year old with just a tiny bit of potential than some 32 year old scrub who struggles to get in the lineup in florida.

I certainly hope Bergevin isn't tempted by the junk other teams are proposing. I'd rather no move than a side move. - elcabong
Here's what i would do if i were MB: We need to get tougher big time so trade for Chris Stewart to take Weise's spot on the top line since that line seems to work well with a big physical forward and bumping Dale down to where he should be. Get Luke Gazdic from EDM for some much needed bottom 6 grit (he can play a little as well so he wont be a liability like other goons). Keep Tinordi up for good to take Emelin's spot and trade Emelin. Acquire a tough depth defenseman like Prout from Columbus. Finally, dump Eller and have DLR assume his spot. There. All of those players would be cheap to get and would make us better and a poopload tougher. People wont be running Price no more or going after Subban, you can bet on that. |

With only eight days to go to the trade deadline, its really funny watching desperate GMs trying to pass their dead wood onto others. All these rumors include just junk players, none will make a difference to anyone.
Bunch of garbage if you ask me. |

Why is Bergenheim PLUS require for Kassian? Seems like an even player swap at just those two. No thanks.
Plus Bjugstad is hurt so... I see us being much more active. - Panthers88
Kassian is worth more than Bergenheim easily. |

Yup. I doubt many GM's would take Bergenheim instead as an asset over Kassian. I'd rather not trade Kassian at all if his value is this low. |

Buffalo is asking too much for Stewart. If Bergevin makes a move, it will need to be players for players. Nothing on the available player's list is worth more than a bag of peanuts. Other team's junk I tell ya... |

So the answer for habs to be a contender is Gadzic, Prout and Stewart? 2 of those guys wouldn't see a single shift in a playoff series. Habs need a top 4 stay at home d man, some bottom 6 help and an elite forward but those guys need to be able to play regularly. |

100% agree
I think WD tough love is actually working. Kassian's game has been slowly improving the last couple of weeks. |

Where those pieces will come from? The price for an elite forward and a top four defenseman is not cheap, if those pieces are even on the market (elite forward).
If Gonchar is coming back soon, I don't think they need another top defenseman anyway. |

Main piece is Stewart, I think he would be Weise 2.0 on the top line. Prout and Gazdic would be depth guys but they can still play. Gazdic has more points than Malholtra for (frank)s sakes and he'd fill a role that we need on the 4th line. Prout would fill in on 3rd pairing duties and would be another welcome addition to a blueline that's in desperate need of some toughness. Now at least we got Tinordi but he's not enough, plus before him we had nobody like that. If not Prout then somebody similar. |

Asking price for Stewart is supposedly a 3rd and a prospect. I'd pay that as long as the prospect going back isn't like a Hudon, Scherbak, or any of our top guys |

Anyone here believing the Canucks would trade Kassian for Bergenheim should immediately drive to the nearest hospital and check yourself into the mental ward. |
