yeah. would have looked good here. i know youre not one for trading futures with the way things sit right now, but if they are serious about entertaining any notions of competing this year, he would have helped for sure. |

Like I said when GMJR waived him, he's better than Sutter. - jfkst1

You mean aside from having better possession and production numbers at a lower cost?

Possession is not a be all end all stat, its a small part of a very big picture.
Lower cost because he is a lower end player. Sutter plays harder minutes than Arcobello can. I would never trust Arcobello to kill a penalty in the playoffs and if youre bottom six and all you have to your name is good possession stats you'd better be killing penalties.
In his time here I can remember not one instance where Arcobello stood out. Sutter (and I hate that you have me defending him) at least sometimes does some stuff. |

Did you actually read what I said? I didn't say he was only better at possession. He is also a better offensive player and much cheaper. And Sutter being on the PK is hardly justification for his $3.3m/yr. Adams is also a good penalty killer and Goc was excellent and both cost a fraction as much. |

Lupul's contract is terrible and while gifted offensively, he's soft and not what the team needs. Rutherford better be sending some trash back their way like Sutter and Scuderi otherwise no way. He's also more injury prone than Bennett if that is even possible. |

Sutter = 12G & 10A
Arco = 12G & 7 A
So Sutter is currently more productive.
Sutter also has 1 PP goal, 2 SH goals and 3 GWG
Arco has 0 in each of those categories
Sutter is also faster, has a better shot and is better along the boards (which is saying alot because Sutter is not good along the boards)
Other than cost which obviously Im not going to argue and the magic of possession (which in this case is providing less productivity) how is Arcobello a better player than Sutter? |

I would love to see exactly how Lupul would be injured as a Penguin. Is it still possible to get the mumps and is the mumps able to be combined with anything? Like, 'bird mumps flu'? |

Penguins should be sellers.
When 87 & 71 produce multiple points, Pittsburgh can win a hockey game. The team can look good against St. Louis and Florida.
When 87 &71 don't do all of the goal creating, the team is exposed for what it is; shallow, undisciplined, and one dimensional. See: recent losses to Columbus, Detroit. DC.
87 & 71 either combine to average 4ppg in the playoffs or the team loses the game. The rest of the team may as well be young and cheap while the brass look toward a more promising future roster. - Johnny Wrath
Pens 4-1 V Detroit??
When they are on they can beat any team in the comp. problem is being 'on'. |

big body, 3rd liner, has won, can score. the only question i guess is what kind of shape he's in. |

Hypothetically - getting out of the East.
Round 1 V Rags or more to the point the King?
They are not as good as last year at this stage nor consistent. Are we good enough to get past King Henry? If they get him within 2 games & go hard in the 3rd I believe he will be beaten. Dirty tactics may play a part but we have learnt or are learning to be able to overcome that in the playoffs.
Round 2 V Caps (I believe Caps will clean the clock of the Isles - maybe not sweep but win well).
Can we handle their 'fighting' spirit? Ovi will definitely play a huge roll & if we can agitate him early especially after the Isles series (I think that will be a slug & checking fest), he may not want to go down that road again & lose his cool early. Again will have to be disciplined as Trotz will be directing his guys to make it a fiery series with plenty of fighting majors if history repeats. We will see tomorrow if the game is close there will be gloves off instigated by the Caps.
ECF V ? Injuries will dictate but I believe the Habs will be there if Price is healthy.
This series will probably provide the first real clean game that will provide highlight reel goals & great hockey. Like the last game very physical but not a fight night @ the local. This is a series that will decide the SC Champion. Who wins here will win the final - call me crazy & maybe mad but this year the cup is in the East in Pittsburgh.
Edit: no I'm not channeling James Tanner! |

Oh I see, it's a pejorative stereotype. About my Jeep, my bros, and I scaring your fish off with our obnoxious dogs and trophy wives. We JDs must be ancient pals from our dandy college shocked to see the very borders of social responsibility and evidently a misunderstanding of the spell check feature are visible to the naked eye like the cloud of dust around Pigpen where you adorable fishermen are concerned. - Johnny Wrath

Lupul isn't that great. Gifted, but not what I would want in a bigger pickup. JVR is more like it. |

Berg trade was a steal but we couldn't have dont anything about it because of his cap hit. If he was to be traded here it would involve a player with a similar cap hit going the other way. Like Scuderi, Kuni or Sutter.
Huge game today, hope we can play actual hockey instead of going after ovechkin. |

Lupul is 31, on a $5.25m/yr contract until 2017, is so injury prone he makes Bennett look like an Iron Man, and terrible defensively. I'd want Winnik coming along and then they get back our trash in Scuderi AND Sutter with Bennett. And even then, I think we will all be bemoaning Lupul's contract in two years. It makes the team older, more cap restricted, and softer. |
