Heard Stan Fish talking about players on the market last night. He seemed to think the Caps trading Mike Green was gonna happen. If they did so, I wonder what that would do to their PP? IMO Green and Ovi make that work with their ability to get one timer bombs off. Take one away, you could focus more on Ovi on the 1/2 wall. - 87_71_11_29
Rumor monger types have a weird tendency to put trade value ahead of hockey value. That's why we've got folks still dreaming of trading Martin.
That said, they paid Niskanen a lot of money to be that right handed PP guy with the booming one timer. He'll slide into that role next season. |

You guys are getting Tlusty. It's basically a done deal.
JR will overpay a little to make sure he gets him. |

I don't want any of these perimeter players. Lupul will get injured in the trade. Hemsky is overpaid and soft. Get some players that don't emulate Brandon Sutter in a puck battle and maybe the Pens depth will stand a chance this postseason. |

Damn Capgeek for not being here, but I don't think that Toronto can retain any more money from guys they move.
Not sure if any of those deals are done and they can retain Lupul money next year...
I like Lupul, but even Beau Bennett thinks that he's injury prone. |

He doesn't do things by half-measures, I'll give him that. If he's going all-in to win, he goes ALL-IN.
He makes some pretty astute moves sometimes, though, and isn't afraid to move on quickly to salvage his mistakes. Getting Tlusty for Phillippe Paradis was a steal. Same with Sekera for McBain and a 2nd. |

So is Harrington... don't let a handful of games at 21 years old make you dismiss him. |

So a decent depth guy and a 24 year old prospect that has a good ceiling and has proved he can play NHL minutes for a 3 month rental? Pass. |

If a trade needs a sweetener, I'd rather use Harrington than Dumo, since the former looks almost 2 years away while the latter is nearly there right now. |

I don't get why everyone wants to trade our prospects D who have shown they can play NHL now, minus Harrington (next year) for a three month rental that has 23 points in 51 games. This is why our system is depleted. I understand the win now, but we need these guys next year on their ELCs as well. |

No guarantee he wouldn't either. I would rather keep a young D that can be a top 3-4 in a year or two while still on an ELC over a 2nd-3rd tweener rental. |
