Swift Current.
Grew up on a farm about 40 minutes south of Swift Current called Cadillac. Home town of Mark Lamb.
twenty minute drive to the east is the home town of Patrick Marleau. 30 minutes south? Bryan Trottier. 30 minutes west? Hayley Wickenheiser and Brayden Coburn. - BINGO!
Canada is sick. I love it, I was up there for two weeks and then drove down through BC to get to Idaho then left back for Ohio. Thing is, I drove non stop from Ohio to Saskatoon then non stop from Idaho to Ohio. |

Cadillac is the first place with a gas station if you cross the border heading north.
It's about 45 minutes from that border crossing. |

Where did you cross into Idaho? I did something similar last summer except I went to Portland, Oregon and back. Probably went through the same crossing you did. By Sand Point?
Also, (frank) IDAHO. |

Nick Leddy is 23 years old!? God I thought he was the same age as Boychuck. Shows what I know I guess. It's not crazy to think Martin could get $7M in his next contract...depending on the term.

Dmen that can play 20+ minutes/game get paid. No one is winning anything in the playoffs without at least three dmen of that quality. |

Yeah I crossed there, my girlfriends family is from Saskatoon and lives there (she doesn't) and they have a lake house in Sandpoint.
This pizza place we went.. wow. Also, we went to this place called MickDuffs brewery, unreal. Fresh fries from Idaho are the poop. I can't tell you how many potatoes I consumed on that trip between that and poutine. |

I got stuck at the bridge in Sand Point for 3 hours. No idea what was going on. Traffic was backed up so far that you couldn't see what had caused it. |

the pens arent looking at Wiz out of columbus right? I mean the only way that makes sense or could work is if martin or scuds was leaving before the trade deadline, and we are all pretty sure that isnt happening? not to mention martin is better defensively than wiz, i doubt we have the pieces that get wiz over here anyway especially considering Columbus has no need for rentals |

Not saying it has. Im saying we have a lot of promise for our team compared to a lot of other teams. You dont decide to be a seller and throw away any playoff hopes just because your team is in a slump and playing crappy for 1 month. - thickman1178
You're really not seeing any of my point.
Also: slump is an sudden, unexpected severe drop. The Pens from their bad stretch starting ~December 22 until their last game, February 22, are 12-15. Twelve and fifteen. This is not sudden nor unexpected. |

Wiz is better offensively, Marts better defensively. |

I really don't want us to pick up any Defensive help, unless its somehow involving shipping out Scuds |

well, teh fact that we arent hearing anything about ehrhoff reminds me of the whole sid head/neck thing...I thought he was skating and practicing with the team, and if that is the case then whats the hold up? its possible we need another dman in case he doesnt make it back, or goes back down, or if anyone else were to go back down. not saying we need to put all of our cards into another d man but I see what their logic would be in wanting one. the same probably goes for most teams going into the playoffs
just like every contender also wants bergenheim and winnik...which is only driving the price insanely up for your run of the mill decent 3/4 liner |

I agree. Plus Wiz does have a cannon for a shot put him makes a lot of questionable plays on the ice....doing the "jerk off" gesture included[/img] |

gotcha, I hadnt seen anything on here or in papers/internet so I wasnt sure on his status.
regardless, maybe they want another d bc if scuds gets burned out as we go deeper intot he playoffs(hopefully) that they recognize itd be better to have an nhl rdy defenseman over calling up dumo or harrington...maybe they think that bortz or pouliout wont be able to handle the playoff pressure and atmosphere, who knows |

No thanks, DSP is one of the guys I would have wanted from Anaheim. Now that he is gone, not much I want from them that would come back in a Kunitz deal. |

Ehrhoff was on the up went he got hurt. He's been very good for us. Martin on the other side was low and now he's getting better playing with Letang. Tough to think about trading any of them.
I say keep Martin and Ehrhoff and lets go for the cup. In the worst case scenario we'll have lots of cap room after the season is over. |

He's like the least valuable of there young forwards. I'd consider a couple for Kunitz |

Kunitz ain't going anywhere. Would be interested in Silfverberg or Maroon? Not bad guys to have as options. (not on a Kunitz deal) |

thatll be nice to have him back but the fact remains he could get hit hard one more time and have another concussion and be done, i think there is just some uncertainty there and the brass is thinking better safe than sorry...i think we are all kinda of tainted when it comes to d man deals around the deadline...we dont want another murray here, we need someone who can play physical, move the puck preferably, and also be able to skate...of course there arent many of those on the market and the ones that are will be pricey...i agree in that I dont want to move harrington pouliot or dumo unless were getting back more than a rental and hes a quality player |

dude calm yourself down, your taking every word i say to the extreme, im not getting up in arms on my end, this is just internet talk...im not saying hes going to retire if he gets hit one more time? I am saying, he is now more susceptible to a concussion, and couple that with playoff hockey being even more physical, would you rather have an experienced nhl defenseman if and when that time comes to step up in his, or any of our d's absence, or would you rather bring dumo or harrington up for the playoffs?
none of it matters anyway, we cant guess whats goign to happen trade wise, we can only speculate, and im basing my thoughts off JR saying multiple times that he wanted to add another d man. |
