Dale must place real value on Cup experience and veteran leaders then, eh?

That was quite a payment. Assuming the 3rd is conditional on making the playoffs - still 2 picks where Dale usually drafts solidly.

Blackhawks players got into an altercation in the locker room today. Rumors are circulating that Sharp slept with Kanes gf and Keiths wife.

Wasn't he a 1st? Dale's best picks were 2nd/3rds... Not saying he is a draft genius like Holland.

All I can think is that Bowman wanted to clear space, on defensive, in Rockford to get some younger players some ice time. Maybe Pokka will be on the first line and get a lot more special teams play out of it? Maybe he wanted to bring Brisebois or Holl up from the ECHL? Maybe He wants Fournier to play more? I have no clue..... I would have to think it has to do with the amount of defensive prospects we have though.

And Michael Paliotta is coming after his college season is over.

It's been brought up on Twitter that Michael Paliotta only has two games left in Vermont. He'll be on his way to RFD - they're very high on him. Could be a real stud.
- TyCamScore

I hope he is and doesn't need much time in Rockford, because we need a top 4 defensemen by next season.

Why do you say "oh twitter" like that isn't a topic discussed here as if it's fact often? Hell, someone even suggested Crawford might have slept with someone's gf/wife earlier.

The internet is the same everywhere.

I think we need to amend the original statement. 45 pages before he trades for an NHL player. Deal?

Sorry, Dale's best picks were Kane, Toews, Barkov, Bjugstad, Gudbransoon, Ekblad. All first round picks. Yeah he swung and had a BIG miss on Beach, but his other 1st rounders have been pretty good.

*Bowman on the phone with Don Maloney*

Stan: "Don, how are you? Listen, I'm just checking in, doing my diligence, you know..."

Don: "Hey Stan, thanks for the call. It's been an unfortunate season for us. We're looking ahead towards to the future, though. We like where we are going. What's on your mind?"

Stan: "I'm just calling to check up on a certain player we have had on our radar for quite a while now."

Don: "Our organization is all ears at this point. We're building our foundation around Ekman-Larsson, and some of the highly skilled forwards we have on the verge of making it to the next level. What can we offer you?"

Stan: "We're looking to shake things up here in Chicago. We like our team but we're always checking around the league. From the Coyotes specifically, we're interested in .... David Moss."

*Stan yells OUCH! over the phone as he gets a kick in the shin by his 81-year-old father, Scotty Bowman*

Don *perplexed* : "Stan everything alright?"

Stan: "Yes, sorry, I just banged my knee on the table. Actually, what I mean to say was that we'd like to get our hands on Vermette and possibly a defense-man."

Don: "Oh, alright. We're open to the possibility. It'll cost you, though. Did you see what Toronto got the other day in their trade? Sheesh. Talk about a lack of sellers on the market this year."

Stan *grumpy and leery*: "Eh, I knew you were going to say that."

*Stan hears a knock on the door and opens it*

Wendy (Stan's secretary): "Mr. Bowman, Dave Nonis from Toronto is on line one"

Stan: "Tell him on I'm on another NHL trade call right now."

Wendy: "Mr. Bowman, it's not an NHL trade call, he's on the line for an AHL trade call."

*Stan's face glows as a great-big grin emerges on his face*

Don: "Hello? Hello? Stan you there? Hello?"

Stan: "Don, I'm gonna have to call you back."

*Immediately hangs up and quickly calls Nonis back*

And the rest was history.

Make a run then. Oldest son has HS game tonight at 7PM so I'll be back in after 9...anxiously awaiting Spencer Abbot's arrival...I knew we had to replace Kane, but this goes beyond my wildest dreams

using the proposed trade that JJ set was made between Chicago and Florida would have Dale getting a second round pick to replace the one he just traded and in addition he gets Stanley Cup experience on his roster

Not sure if it's exactly that, but I wouldn't be surprised to see one or both of Bickell and Sharp involved. Huberduau would be a nice return.

It would be great to unload those two contracts..

I agree, and they are both seriously under-performing. Would be nice to get some production in return.

FANTASTIC JJ. That's your best ever. If Bowman is not going to be a buyer, I'd be in favor of him being a seller. Neither of which he will probably do. This is the time for this Hot shot, "genius" capologist ( as we were told ) to prove his worth. I have no reason to believe that he will acquire anything to help this year's team, or the future for that matter. Again, great write-up.

If he had held off for a few more hours, Stan could have got the Leafs to throw in the rights to Normie Ullman.
