If he does and get over 50 points; does he become Calder consideration? - Linden_4_Capt
Not enough games left to come close to 50. If he finishes off this season playing all the games then I believe he will no longer be considered a rookie next year, so I'd have to say no. But if he put up 50-60 points I'd have to think he would absolutely be in the conversation |

We should take a screenshot and send it to CGY if they try to insist it was a 2015 2nd rounder. |

Just at 12noon Duffy was saying it was one of the worst trade deadlines with only 15 trades. |

Benning will acquire more picks. Guaranteed. Just look at the trades he made at the draft last year. - hertzman
Last year they had arguably the most desired player on the market in Kesler and an extra top 4 D in Garrison, which he was able to turn into an extra 1st.
It is possible to get more picks but he doesn't have the same quality of players to move to get those picks in a stronger draft year, possible but not guaranteed. |

Travis Green coached Sven in Portland so there's that. Mgmt must be thinking they can straighten him out.
I'm just really glad we didn't get Kadri even for a bag of pucks.

(frank) it just occurred to me he is Swiss. I bet he just sits in the neutral zone and refuses to move anywhere else |

I think I may be the only one who is not a fan of the Sven trade. Seems like the Vey deal all over again. |

I don't love it, I just view it as drafting someone with that 2nd pick with his skill set and upside. With like the 45ish pick in the draft, I'd be pretty happy to land a player with his skill set. I know you prefer bigger/physical players though. |

Going for the Calder Cup. Too bad they don't play AHL games on the tube too much. |

Is it a coincidence that just after 6 months of getting Kessler the Ducks trade away 7 guys form their locker room? I wonder if Kessler hit all of their wives and girlfriends.

What's to straighten out?
He's 36GM 8G 17A 25PTS this year on Adk Flames.
He's got 80 points in 109 AHL games. He's got 28 points in 66 NHL games. All this in 4 pro seasons.
Looks pretty straight to me. |

It is much like the Vey deal but I think Sven is actually better than Vey. Also I still like the Vey trade, he is on pace for 30+ points in his rookie season |

Yea, this surprised me. On our team he would be top 5 in points |

Agreed. For whatever reason he fell out of favor with Hartley. Happy to spend a 2nd on the bet he'll continue his development with us. |

Agree, 30+ points is solid for the majority of rookies in the NHL. He has had his ups and downs, shown really good offensive instincts, his downside I think is his physical maturity. After a full season against NHL bodies, he'll know what needs to happen this offseason and I am sure he will be more consistent next year |

No kidding. I like this kid. And this team needs skill badly.
He was drafted in 2011 and is only 22 years old. He was drafted in the same year as Jensen. Far more accomplished.
For those screaming to give Jensen time better (frank)ing love this deal. |

Considering he started the year with a 7 game pointless streak that's pretty darn good. |
