This is almost getting comical

@ArizonaCoyotes: Head Coach Dave Tippett says @domingue35 will start in goal tonight vs @Avalanche

2.14 GAA, .929 sv%. It's only in 4 games, but just get em to OT, Louie!

It's smart. the sabres brass are showing they are not. Idk how fans of the sabres can be mad at the yotes, they're are doing exactly what the sabres have been doing for the past year. However, at this point they might be doing it better than us.

Difference is . Out there . do they even know they have a hockey team ? The ones that do,, do they care ?

Oh ya i understand.

I was stating the comic relief it would bring me when the camera pans to nolan, after getting scored on after he was forced to play a college goalie.

It certainly would make things interesting.

Difference for their fans. Not the management, management for both organizations should have the same goals. And right now it's dissapointing to see the yotes doing a better job at obtaining that goal. But it's hardly should be something we should get mad, especially considering, it's what we want the sabres to do.

Most would argue it's comical to trade away two goalies that can be considered starters. Mike smith has been getting majority of the starts, they're just rolling their backup tonight.

33.5% chance of gold. Toronto won't and I highly doubt EDM finishes lower.

Keep calm, brother.

I understand why Arizona is starting their backup but i don't understand why the teams that play against them roll out the starter against them almost every time but the teams that play us rarely use their starter.
Here the last 16 games (including tonight's)for Arizona 1 out of 16 were the backup

Arizona

Varlamov
Quick
Schneider
Crawford
Rinne
Price
Lack
Anderson
Rask
Talbot
Johnson
Schneider
Bishop
Varlamov

Niemi

By my count we had 48 points with 12 games to go last year.

edit- and in their final 12 games they went 1-9-2.

Could be the fact that the sabres only avg like 20 shots per game and arizona is at 30 shots per game.

Teams start their backups against us for one simple reason. We can't score. If your starters usually start 60-65 games a year, and you have a game vs one of the historically goal scoring teams, you're gonna start the backup. Then there is the fact that the playoff race in the west is tighter than the east, so more west conference teams will still start their starter.

As bad as the Sabres are at scoring Arizona is going at an even worse pace and that doesn't even seem possible.
Arizona has only scored 23 goals in their last 19 games

Sabres have scored 35 in last 19

I posted this in Lucas thread regarding the question of the 3 on 3 OT.
Thoughts ?

3 on 3 at the start of the OT.
Winner 1 pt
Loser 0 pt

That would get the game more important to be won in regulation.
Teams with star power would want to drag the game into OT if there wasn't a penalty in the point system. Dropping it to 1pt for the win would discourage it.
