I would be more apt to believe this if the Coyotes had faced more than 1 backup in their last 16 games. Granted more teams are 'mathematically alive' for the playoffs out west, but the Avs are not going to make it and they still roll out their starter tonight. How much do you want to bet that they start the backup against Buffalo next week?

No its very relevant, because no other team has done it before. It shows that the sabres wanted to put absolute garbage in net, and trade away starting caliber goalies for "assets" that will amount to nothing.

I count at least 11 games since the ASG where we faced a backup, a 3rd stringer (CBJ, NYRx2, BOS) or a goalie not on the teams roster at the beginning of the season. We've played in 20.

Idk. Seems odd to me. I thought teams rode their starters after the ASG traditionally in order to secure a playoff birth, not give them maintenance days and rest their backups.

Really genius? Perhaps you should look up the definition of a conspiracy. Teams acting a certain way individually is not a conspiracy. If all the teams got together and said hey let's all start our backups, then that would be a conspiracy.

Neither of us suggested its a conspiracy. We logically concluded that other teams are slighting us because there isn't a hockey player, coach, GM or fan who doesn't know that McDavid and Eichel are the next Crosby and Teows.

No one believes there is a league wide conspiracy and we aren't suggesting that there is. You conclude that what we say must be a conspiracy because you fail to see that over half of our games played since the all-star break (you know, that almost 2 weeks where teams starting players and goalies rest before the playoff push when teams traditionally ride their starters until they clinch) are against 2nd and 3rd stringers. And almost none of the teams we've faced were out of the playoff picture completely or at all.
