I was also a bit confused as to why it would be heated - Just5
As simple as this: Knowing it's his last shot, one side spends weeks declaring "I'm playing", the other says "no way." It took a lot of medical opinions and paperwork before Hextall came around to the idea of Timonen being permitted to step on the ice again.

the eager moment still makes me sick. leighton victimized again. - hammarby31
Eager's highlight as a Flyer. Getting destroyed by old man Ron Francis
Eager's highlight as a Hawk. SCF game winning goal vs. Flyers

my favorite ryan potulny moment is when he scored the game's only goal against leighton in a 1-0 win for the oilers with 16 seconds remaining. it was a game that was openly predicted to end in just such a fashion right here in this blog. good times. - hammarby31
That's my lasting memory of him too. Lol.
It was in Edmonton so I stayed up to watch a 0-0 game only to have him score that late goal. Brutal. |

True
I remember being at a game vs Buffalo very late in the 06-07 season. A couple of loudmouth Sabres fan were parading around the concourse with a tin foil Stanley Cup. I'm pretty sure they didn't appreciate my comment of: "32 years still tops never and how's Scott Norwood doing these days"
Moments like that helped me cope with that season - BiggE
i remember that game, because i was there myself and had a similar experience with buffalo fans after the game in the parking lot. it was in fact the final game of the regular season. the flyers won with biron in net. the sabres fans were awful. i recall asking them to share their memories of all the stanley cups the sabres have won. |

no, you can't, yet it's predictable as the sun rise. just one of many in the lengthy list of flyers glorious lore. |

(frank) I miss that show. One of the very few sitcoms I'll actually watch.
Walking dead, and all that other modern trash is BS. Michael Scott, that is a man. - flyer_nutter
God I loved the office. I think it stayed pretty funny after carrell left the show. The office and 30 rock are the two shows I miss the most

Still one of my favorite shows of all time! |

I'm sure before it happened someone said Potulny would score the GWG. |

Yes, he left on good terms. Basically, Kimmo was adamant about intending to play if the docs cleared him and Hextall took a much longer time to get on board. - bmeltzer
That strikes me as odd. If a player is signed to a contract, healthy and cleared to play, why would the GM hesitate? |

Hextall was just concerned for his safety. No need to make this into anything bigger |

First and foremost, he wasn't convinced it was safe. Then add in the salary cap considerations for next season as well as current season. Player hadn't skated in 10 months. Roster overcrowding was already an issue, too. |
