The boast of heraldry, the pomp of power,
And all that beauty, all that wealth e'er gave,
Awaits alike the inevitable hour.
The paths of glory lead but to the grave. - Der Kaiser

A team like Dallas or Columbus is gonna win McDavid. One of those 5-7% chance teams and not one of the bottom 3. In my opinion. |

Here is my interview with Ted Nolan.
1. Ted, To win a Stanley Cup you need high end talent, do feel the current Sabres team has high end talent?
He's said before "to win a cup you need game breaking high end players and we are trying to acquire those type of players here"
2. So you believe that you do need high end talent to win a cup not just a team filled with 4th line grinders like Matt Ellis, wouldn't it be easier to win a cup with Connor McDavid on the team? Wouldn't it be easier to draft a high end game breaker at top of draft?
I'm so sick of hearing about Gringo...Gringo...Gringo, the guy is a loser who will never be an impact player, I could tell after watching him in preseason the first year he didn't have what it takes, the guy is super slow, never goes into areas needed to score and he has the worst desire/intensity level.
In my opinion Reinhart is not going to be better than a 50-60 point guy, he is not going to be a game changer high impact guy that you usually get at top of draft. He even said 5 times in one interview that he has to "work on his intensity level". I can't stand guys who are low energy lacking in desire. Bennett is a high energy, super fast and intense player that will be better mark my words. Reinhart skates like a sloth, I hope the skating coach can help him add some quickness, right now he looks like a slug. He doesn't even score many goals in junior hockey. He looks like Craig Janney type who will pass the puck 90% of the time, most likely a 10-15 goal guy who gets 40 assists. - MrSquirrel

I would only since they're in the Metro but outside of that I wouldn't be too upset. |

It is going happen sometime and lo and behold it should happen when Buffalo is involved. I see a large market team getting the first pick, I am sure the league wants McDavid in either Arizona or Toronto. |

Could very well happen, which is why people are standing on the ledge here hoping we don't fall out of 30th and lose our chance to draft Eichel. |

I don't think the Sabres will win another game, but if they do it will probably be at home against Carolina Monday. My real concern is loser points. It would be so Buffalo sports to get a shootout loss point that puts us in 29th. |

I see Khudobin has been playing a lot lately. Is Ward injured or has he been passed on the depth chart? |

I think most of us don't expect McDavid. He would be a bonus. Eichel is who who have always targeted as the 'sure thing'. Unless we blow this tank. |

Eichel is a nice consolation prize, but at the end of the day, he's "just" a consolation prize. Not the main prize.
Starting next season with Eichel is nice, but if I'm a fan of the 30th placed team, I would be very disappointed not having McDavid. |

I'm pretty confident we won't be disappointed, but I'm in the minority on that. |

Why would you be confident? Even finishing 30th there is a 4 out of 5 chance you don't get McDavid. |
