I know we talk about how this team needs defense and play makers on offense. But if they can't get both how about at least getting guys who draw penalties? PP is lethal and if they can't improve the ES scoring, try getting players who will get that PP unit a couple of chances a game.

Sorry I know I posted the same thing in the other blog, just wanted to throw it out there again for further comment.

Good win against the Pens. Opening the door for the Sens. The Flyers are my fav east team. I have a signed BC and Hextall jersey along side of my Flames jerseys.

And a Pronger jersey I got from an Oilers fan friend but that isn't signed....or framed. I want to do an Orange Crush double jersey box with a pic of all the orange jerseys in the arena.....should be nice!

The more pressure we put on offensively the more penalties we'll draw. No other way to go about it.

I didn't care for the Flames for a long time but I really like this new team they're putting together. Monahan is a beast and Hudler has been phenomenal as a Flame.

The tendency these days seems to be that a team is called frequently for a stick foul after they turn the puck over. Cycling-style stuff is left alone.

Acquiring players to draw penalties is just a patch over our problems. I'd rather acquire a couple guys to help improve our ES production than acquire a couple guys to draw penalties.

I posted this in the other thread, but I'll post it here too, because I can.

Just watched the highlights.

1. I don't care if my pic was deleted. Malkin is a female dog. Always has been. Just ask Coots! I was laughing heartily when he hit that post and was yelling at Comeau on the bench. Love it.

2. Kunitz shooting it at the net. What a jerk off. No penalty either...why am I not surprised. I love how the boys responded to that though. Really (frank)ing awesome. We had guys leaning over the bench screaming, and who was the guy who went after Kunitz the hardest? Jake. Beelined it from the defensive zone circle. He really stands up for his teammates- especially with the swag he brings this year. If he doesn't like what you're doing, you're gonna have a bad time. What a great player to have. 2 points today right? He's an animal.

3. Loved the celly from White. I let out a "holy poop" after that Coots pass. Wow.

4. Mason

5. Beating the Penguins is my favorite thing. I might hate them just as much as I hate the Rangers and Devils, but boy do I love beating that team more than anything. We expose their play and character. Every game. It's glorious. If I was a Penguin fan, it'd drive me nuts.

Michael Del Zotto and Ryan White are two huge pick ups by Hextall. Both are keepers moving forward.

Brayden Schenn in my opinion is finally being used the way that they should use him. There is no point in putting a talented kid on a line where he has to sit back and watch G and Jake stick handle. Schenn has to be included. Playing away from the puck just isn't his game.

I know many here are ready to argue why Mason isn't in talks for being one of the best in the league. I think a statement game like this one sets up for next season. We just need to get a better defense in front of him and he's gotta remain healthy. I have no doubt he'll get his due if he can remain healthy.

Pre-game he called Mason "Run of the mill", by intermission he was ignoring the stops and focused on the goal against...then at the 2nd intermission he was saying Mason had a good game,

Mason was awesome again, even with the (frank)ing Pens bumping and running him every chance they got.

That misconduct on Jake was pure crap. I was worried things were about to get out of hand after that crap, but the Flyers held on and stuck the dagger in. Well done.

If the Sens win tonight, that Tuesday game against the Pens is going to be intense.

Mason made that look a lot harder than it had to be.

But seriously, that's a poop turnover by MDZ.
