Assuming they go QB with their next pick, that isn't a terrible idea. He's getting up there in age, can groom the young guy for a season and gives them the best chance to win their division this year.

I think it was you who always says that a rookie QB should (almost) always sit for a year or two (Andrew Lucks and Peyton Manning's (although he could have sat for a year) not withstanding).

That'd be fine. I really don't like Petty as a prospect, would much rather have someone like Hundley. Petty's a product of Baylor's system. Nick Florence(!!) had just as good of stats his single year starting as Petty. Don't see him as anything more than a back up in the NFL.

How could you not buy it when Nick Florence(NICK FLORENCE) put up more yards (4309 vs 4200) and TDs (33 vs 32) than Petty's best year. I'm not questioning his size or toughness (was playing with a broken back for a few games this year), but he didn't have to make a ton of NFL throws in college. Not many anticipation throws where he has to throw before the reciever is open, or those frozen rope 10-12 yard outs that are so important in the pros. Mostly long bombs and play action screens from that offense. Agree to disagree though. And if he slips to the third I wouldn't mind taking him, just didn't want him with our second.
