Agreed fully, the end of the year presser is pointless when they've been asking questions about what the team will do next season all season long.

Bills talk real quick. I really hope if max Williams or dorial green beckham falls to 50 the bills take them. Not positions of need, but it would be great I think

Why? That's their job and they're paid to cover the team. Respect should be paid to the fans that spend their money to watch the games, not to the media that get paid to watch the games.

So you spend time arguing that it's disgraceful that they don't do a presser, but then you accurately write both the inevitable questions and their inevitable answers. Regarding the year end presser Mike. And unfortunately I have to agree with Harrington for the first time all year. It's the principle of it. The Sabres owe it to the fans and the media to have an open Q&A.

So you spend time arguing that it's disgraceful that they don't do a presser, but then you accurately write both the inevitable questions and their inevitable answers. I constantly hear media members, in all sports, bash athletes if they don't address the media after the game. Who cares? I know why the media cares - so they can get stories, quotes, etc. But I would say that the majority of fans don't care. They can tweet, make a website, or just flat-out not speak and it would make no difference. The media portrays it as the fans expecting an answer and i being disrespectful to fans, but it's really just the media trying to do their job. Don't make it to be more than it is.

Granted I've never heard of anybody in the Buffalo media, so this is more of a general statement.

won't disagree with much of what you said, but beat writers shouldn't be dismissed either as they follow the team every day...the sabres lost over 120 games the last three seasons...not sure it'd be all that fun covering that, even if you're getting paid for it

I couldn't name many jobs that are better. I'm an accountant - researching tax laws, international exchange rates, corporate tax allocations are not fun (though I'm just pretending to do that right now). My buddy the construction worker that works outside in all types of weather and has to be in at 5 am when he's not laid off doesn't think that's fun. My neighbor that owns an HVAC business with bad knees doesn't think his job is much fun. My mailman that I see sweating when bringing my mail on days when it's so hot I won't go outside doesn't always have fun. My cop friend that wears a bullet-proof vest to work so in case he gets shot doesn't have much fun. So I don't like hearing when media complain when they are paid to watch and report on an event where these types of people spend their hard-earned money to do the exact same thing. It says to me that they have been on the job too long, are taking it for granted, and are starting to feel like they are owed something.

I'm sorry if I'm ranting. Just one of those things. Don't even get me started on stadium financing. Public money given to private businesses that don't even provide any breaks for the taxpayers of the jursdiction that has extended the breaks... Ahhhh!!!! lol.

Why does anybody care what Harrington has to say, let alone the other 2 morons ( Bucky and Sully) All 3 are morons.

Good blog. Solid as always. I can see both sides of the argument about having a post season presser. I honestly didn't even notice they didn't have one until it was pointed out, but that may have more to do with the fact that I was in Cancun at the conclusion of the season/locker clean out day than the fact that I didn't feel one was needed.

great shift for eichel...great speed and patience...put nhl-level shots on rinne.
