I wonder how good fucale or toskala are? Cause a Carey price for RNH and yakapov trade would sure make the habs and oil very different and interesting teams to watch

It'd make Montreal a lottery contender.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the habs to trade fucale or tokarski for the nuge. They'd be idiots to trade price

If the Caps lose tonight, Ovi should definitely move on. Guy deserves a Cup. He's stated he's open to be a Hab (sadly). Habs NEED scoring. Wonder what it'll take for MTL to get Ovi.

imagine if they chose Halak over Price years ago, and Price got dealt to STL. I think they would've won the cup.

I don't think goalies are worth very much trade wise unless your talking about a price, lundquist, rinne type

you don't need to win nhl awards to win the cup. I mentioned they need one of their goalie prospects to step up. Sheifele, trouba and Lowry are all under 21 and look to be on the right path. Trouba can easily win a Norris trophy in his future. Little, wheeler and Myers (another potential future Norris winner) are all locked up long term. The jets actually play great with out buff so I don't care if we lose him. Ehlers and josh Morrisey look to be future all stars at their positions. Lemieux, armia, petan and kosteluk all look to future nhl'ers without question. I think Ladd re signs and gets locked up. I see a team with a great mix of skill, speed and toughness that will be icing four great lines in the very near future. I guess time will tell
- Ross77

You sure about that? I'm pretty sure most Cup winners have award winning players, if not all of them.

Winnipeg is a playoff team but they're also a 1 and done team or lucky in the 1st round and destroyed in the 2nd round like Calgary was. They have decent but a mediocre future.

I'd guess something like, galchenyuk, plekanek, fucale and a first round pick

both Galchenyuk & Plek? I don't know... who would give Ovi the puck? I don't even know if I'd trade Gally, but I'd assume WSH would want him back. Fucale, 1st, one of their d prospects possibly, and a forward prospect.

I don't know for sure but did Carolina, boston or Ana him have any award winners when they won, what about Detroit? Was lindstrom winning the Norris all those years cause he'd be the only award winner there. The jets have the number one ranked prospects on multiple sites

Yes, all of them have something. Conn Smythe, Richard, Selke, Norris. And you only mentioned a couple teams, what about the rest of them like the Blackhawks and the Kings and the Penguins etc.

The Jets do not have the best prospects in the NHL. Maybe top 10, definitely not #1.

Yea, I disagree with him. Vancouver isn't as bad as Ottawa.

I don't think any team in the league is as bad off as Ottawa, so long as Melnyk's around.

Nah, Vancouver is worse than Ottawa. Old Sisters and nobody to replace them. Even Lack is going to get moved soon. At least the Senators are a young team, the Canucks are old, their window is closed and they haven't even started rebuilding yet. They're like the Flames when they refused to trade Iginla or the Leafs with Sundin at the end.

Conn Smythe was that a joke? Of course you'll have one of those, your right though
The Kings had no award winners last year other teams maybe had one, not exactly team altering. And Ya the jets have the deepest pool of prospects in the nhl

Yeah, most of the time you have a Conn Smythe winner if you win the Cup. So my question to you is, who on the Jets is good enough to win that? Maybe Buffy? And even at his best in Chicago, he still wasn't the guy who won it. Ladd? Same story.

Doughty is constantly a Norris candidate, Quick a Vezina calibre goalie, Kopitar a Selke candidate and so on and so on.

The Jets are just mediocre and no, they don't have the deepest pool of prospects, not even close. Oilers, Sabres, Panthers, Lightning, Flames, Islanders, Coyotes; plenty of teams with way better young players and prospects.

It's a crazy question because it's going to be sometime before any canadian team wins the cup. Watching teams like Chicago and Anaheim it really puts things into perspective. All canadian team are so far away it's disheartening.

I'll only look at the next 5 years because who knows what's going to happen beyond that. A team has to make the playoffs first to compete. So I'm going to look at who (over the next five years) has the best chances of making the post season. Hopefully, with a whole lotta luck one of those teams strikes gold.

Hutchinson was mvp of lady years ahl playoffs, I am hoping that hellybuck can win a venza and conn Smythe, trouba, Myers, can win Norris, sheif or Lowry can win selke, and I think ehlers will be special. Your pretty focused on how they look today, I'm saying they will win a cup and will prove you wrong in a few years. The hockey news ranked there depth number one so for you to have so many teams ahead is way off
