basically, a video is just something you watch... it's a single file that plays from beginning to end. This on the other hand is a series of hundreds of images projected onto the inside of spheres that you can look around, zoom into, and move from one location to another... all the way out onto the street... and even into another business if there's one nearby(or you have lots of time to kill) |

But wait, most of the talking heads said they were built for the playoffs and they are never wrong. Never. |

But end of the day, they're willing to spend to win. Melnyk isn't.
No budget team has won the cup.
So even though Vancouver still has to start a rebuild, they're at least in a position to one day win.
Ottawa just isn't in the discussion. - Feeling Glucky?
That's a pretty weak argument. There are plenty of teams who spend money and never win jack all. Ottawa can spend when they feel it's worth it and if they continue on their path of drafting and developing, they'll get there before the Canucks who are years behind them in that department. |

It's not a weak argument at all.
There are teams that spend and don't do poop, no doubt... but the only teams that win are teams that spend.
Melnyk doesn't want to spend... he's got a pretty loyal fanbase that's giving him tons of money for his Barbados vacation. He gets asses in the seats with his budget team, and even gets playoff revenue every few years... without spending. Lots of bang for the buck. Investing more in the team means that profitability goes down.
Ballard had the same strategy with the Leafs, remember? |

we don't really have a directory of businesses that have been done, system just lets us know if the one we want to do has been shot already... but taking a quick look at google maps, I don't think any have been done yet. |

The teams that win, draft, develop and then spend. He's probably just waiting for the right time to do it. Having cap flexibility is as important as ever. Better to have that than a bunch of overpaid, old players like the Leafs.
Ottawa fans are fickle, they don't show up all the time and usually need a good reason to stay loyal. |

Well for a long time, the Leafs had old guys but even now, they aren't exactly busting with 18 year olds. I think they're middle of the pack in terms of age.
My point is, to "spend money" means you gotta go out and sign a bunch of UFAs and UFAs are usually 30+ players for 5 to 7 year deals which gets you stuck with guys like Clarkson which is what Ottawa tries to avoid.
EDIT: Ottawa actually offered Clarkson a deal before he signed with Toronto which proves that Ottawa ownership is willing to spend money on UFAs however it would be stupid for them to do so which probably made them rethink how they build their team. |

The west is very tough, I see Anaheim and Chicago safe that is all, yes I am a Winnipeg fan but I think the jets, flames, Dallas, Colorado are all on the way up and San jose, van, and la are on the way down |

People have said that this season and they finished 2nd in their division and 5th in the conference. What's the indication that they are in decline? |

First what was the point difference from 5th to 9th? There best players, sedins, bieska, hamhuis, burrows are all getting older and are in decline. They haven't addressed d in the draft and over all haven't drafted well. They have a couple decent young forwards coming along and good young goaltending but not a deep prospect pool. The thing I will say about van is it is a desirable place to play and they could do a very quick re build (2-3 years) if they chose to trade some guys now while they have value, they could gain some nice young pieces and can attract and afford any big ticket free agents in a couple years when ready |

I think the sedins would look a lot better in the east, a place like the islanders? Not sure how a trade like that could play out but would be pretty interesting |

Six point difference between 5th to 9th.
Eight point difference between 1st and 5th.
Bit of a wash isn't it?
But I see your point. All canuck fans are hoping Jim Benning can work some magic with this roster. This is an important off season and will determine our near future.
I agree with what you are saying. I just wanted to see if you were talking out your ass. |

Magic? There won't be magic. If Benning is smart, he sells everybody and rebuilds. The window is closed, time to get new people to build around. Don't do what the Leafs and the Flames did and hold on to the past for 5 years too long.
