I don't see any canadian team even close. Oilers will be good in a couple years, but having a phenom doesn't guarantee success. Ask Ovechkin,Tavares, Stamkos.
Tampa and Washington are good because they finally got some stellar goaltending, solid D, balanced scoring etc

I look at it like this.

The Blue Jays were the best team in baseball in 93. A Jays fan wouldnt dare bring that up to put down say Baltimore.

Montreal fans are always yakking about 94 though, and they didn't even win a playoff game!
