Overused, meaningless saying.
Make the playoffs and hope for a bit of luck and a hot goaltender. Window open. - bloatedmosquito
Accurate and the reality of the situation.
You don't have a hot goaltender, you traded them all away already with another one about to go out the door.
Praying for luck is just another way of saying you know the team isn't good enough because the window is closed. |

Yup. Wife, kids, and a mortgage does that for you. But I have a trip of a lifetime coming up in mid august.
Going diving with white pointers at Guadalupe Islands, Mexico. Booked the trip 3 years ago and it's almost here. Finally. Other than that, waiting to see what Jim Benning's going to do with the canucks poop roster. I think we may be in for a world of hurt. - bloatedmosquito
You can get really badly sunburned down there - even in the water.
So I recommend putting on a heavy suntan lotion before you get in the water with those sharks, Bloatsie:

i was to suggest to him that blood scares sharks away. so taking a blade to his palm just before he entered the water would be beneficial to his safety |

He's not really overrated, he's just the East version of Joe Thornton; no playoff luck. The effort is always there though. Both of them would be great on a contender's 2nd line. |

rick nash? he's overpaid but nearly everyone says he's overrated so i tend to think he's rated fairly these days lol |

Who actually cares if he's the best D Man from that draft? Too much focus on who the best players were in a draft year and too little on how the pick fits into a team.
As it stands right now....Murray wouldn't have done squat for us...and likely wouldn't for another year at least. - Jeropotato
so yak was the better pick? 3 seasons in and yak has shown little
I remember fanboys saying he was gonna be better than malkin/kovalchuk...
should be able to get a good d-man with the pens pick...kylington? |

What has Murray shown you?
Not saying he's the better pick, but when all is said and done in a few more years it might not matter. |

He could become a solid player still but you expect to get a franchise type player in that spot. I would feel bad for Edmonton if they didn't pick 1st every year. |

It's pretty stunning how bad the Leafs were this season, eh? I mean when you stop and look in retrospect, that was a lot of games to lose considering the amount of games they had left. |

I guess....but I don't think a real franchise player will come out that draft. Not every year is gonna be that stacked. There was no Stamkos, JT or Doughty to be had , really. |

Best player on the ice in the few games i saw. their record is great with him in the lineup. not as offensive as rielly, but better in his own end.
filip forsberg is the only forward who has really established himself out of that draft. |

Yakupov would probably be 6th overall in this draft, all the other top 5 would be top 10.
this draft is stacked, that draft was thin |

I'm not really stunned.....did you see how many games the Oilers lost in the 1st half?
Leafs 1st half + Oilers 2nd half = playoff team?
Oilers 1st half + Leafs 2nd half = worst record in the history of ever? |
