As a Sabres fan this response by Garth is a disgrace to the fanbase in soo many facets. If Babcock decides Detroit is his place then fine, I'm not mad we tried and don't need to act like a five year old mad because we didn't get our way.

I'm as excited as anyone about our future but Garth needs to stop writing like everyone has arrived and developed and we have the 85 Oilers skating next year for us. The foundation is just settling now and there is no guarantee no matter how much potential that is a certainty.

As far as taking pot shots at the Red Wings, maybe your jealous Garth that they have done it right for 20 years plus years. They are the model franchise and until we win cups and have a run like they have it isn't changing.

I don't know that I would call his 6-year run a COMPLETE failure, I mean they did make it to 2 AFC Championships with Mark Sanchez at the helm--i'll say that again, Mark freaking Sanchez. Granted they didn't do a thing after those two seasons but that team was being run in to the ground anyways, he did what he could with what he had.

2 AFC championships games with a rookie QB isnt exactly a complete failure. After those 2 years the organization showed complete incomitance and didn't bring in any talent to replace the good players that left. If winning super bowls is the only way to measure success then sure...he was a failure. But when he had the horses he was right there in the mix for super bowl contender.
