This is a nice sentiment, but we've seen it happen first hand. The 2011 Canucks were the best hockey team that I've ever had the pleasure of watching, but by the Finals they didn't have anything left. - CubanBuffet
Yes, as touched on, it's definitely a battle of attrition but, by the same token, just knowing you are only a few wins away from a championship at least somewhat mitigates the fatigue and the injuries suffered to date. I suppose it's a fine line trying to ensure you still retain focus and not to dwell on any negatives or things that are out of your control. But it's still amazing to see ANYONE left standing after the marathon that is the Stanley Cup play-off. Truly is a testament to how hard it is to win this championship |

Again, for some teams you just can't overcome injuries or exhaustion even if you're 4 wins or even 1 minute away from winning the Cup. The mind can be willing but the body isn't. |

I suppose, as harsh as it is, that's the difference between winners and losers and those that lead each. There are just certain players that defy convention and they will not stop until or give-up no matter how much the cost. I remember Steve Yzerman playing basically one whole play-off on one leg and he still dominated the game just because of his will and desire to win. To this day, I'm stunned he didn't receive the Conn Smythe trophy that year (I think it was Lidstrom). |

Nucker's relationship with Sbisa has all the makings of a bad romantic comedy. |

If both these series goes 7 with multiple OT games, the Finals are going to suck. No team is going to have any legs and it's going to be less about hockey and more about which goalie screws up the least and which team can get a bounce. - DariusKnight
Meh, I don't even see a competitive finals. Winner of hawks ducks is going to rip the east apart. If the ducks get there I think the east will be lucky to win a game |
