The great Gus. If they get a 7th rd pick consider it a steal.
Bill any idea what team may want him it who
You think would be a good fit for him |
|
|
|
I would rather keep him and watch his progression and push the decision to next year then get a 7th. I would consider a 4th or above.
Or
Rights to Gus plus a 3rd for the rights to Burmistrov?
What does everyone think the rights to Gus is worth in a trade? |

How was his year in the KHL this year, Bill ? No idea what he'd be worth. At this point he just another case of....." Where young defenceman go to die" ie the Flyers. |

Watching those game 5 highlights against the Canadians was awesome, thanks bill. First time in a long time I think the flyers are on a planned course to build a team that can win consistently. No idea if it'll work out, but I'm all in! I want that feeling from 2010 again. |

Just some thoughts on Morin from yesterdays game. He is definitely not NHL ready. When he has the puck he is pretty solid at making a pass and is a good skater going forward. Defends the front of the net well and angles well in his own end when skating forward. Defending the rush is a mixed bag and may ultimately be what determines the type of player he will be. He got turned around a few times yesterday that made me wonder if he will ever make it to the nhl. Guys with speed and skill get him moving his feet and he eventually gets stumbling and he even fell a few times. Not sure how he is going to pan out at the nhl level. |

I didn't say he was worth that, I said that is what it would take for me to trade him. You can just hold him and wait/hope for him to mature. |

Gus' rights are worth squat, he's a 6/7 at best. You can easily sign a guy like that in free agency |

Big, tall dmen often take the longest time to develop, he'll be fine |

Agreed, Morin gets a very long leash. I don't need to see a Chara - Yashin trade anytime soon. |

All that really comes to mind. Unless he's being literal and means Dmitri Tertyshny. |

Thanks for the flag mystery Bill. It's almost like a National Treasure movie...lol. One thing keeps leading to another. How the "real" flag will be identified is almost impossible to tell. That is why I stick to collecting hockey cards instead of signed pictures, and jerseys.
In my opinion, Dineen would be a good assistant coach choice for the team. If Hakstol doesn't pan out, Dineen could take over the helm, and I would feel comfortable with that choice. Any other coaching suggestions out there; goalie coaches? |

Patch forgeries are rampant in eBay card sales. The cards themselves are legit, but swapping out a patch swatch for a multicolored is pretty easy with a sharp blade and some tweezers.

@IgorEronko
Nikita Zaitsev, one of the most promising Russian defenders, told R-Sport he's going to stay in the #KHL for 1 more year #NHL
So the Zaitsev door is apparently closed for a year. |

Could he try to get an uninsured tryout with another team and hope he plays well enough for the team to want to acquire his rights? Not sure if players on QOs are allowed or not. |

Like a PTO? Pretty sure that isn't allowed.
I like Gus, think he's a decent third pair guy, nothing special. But he's cheap and has been fairly effective when healthy. I think his trade value is nil, maybe as a throw in to sweeten a bigger deal. |

Good point JM383. I do have some limited edition cards, but nothing with additional features such as parts of a jersey, etc..
I try to keep life simple, and not get to carried away with collecting hockey things. I might have an old Hartzy jersey for sale...lol. Only worn once, because my wife had a jersey thing at work...sheesh. I tried to give her a non-numbered jersey, but she loved the way the "new look" Flyers jersey was. Hey, I am just glad that I was able to teach her the team names...lol.

His rights are the Flyers, don't think he can do that with another team. |

Then hold onto him and wait until next year and reevaluate. No need to throw away assets. No fuss to move Gus. |
