So if Maelstrom was given an NHL opportunity in September it would basically be the same age as when lack was given his opertunity.

Given the significant step forward gillis' draft picks have made in the last season. Is it fair to suggest he had an eye for talent but had no idea how to develop players? Not a shocker considering his personality.

In order to move Lack, Benning must have tremendous faith in Markstrom, not sure if he does or not but he compared him to a young Ben Bishop a couple days ago.

How young? Bishop didn't become a starter until he was 27.

I don't think he's horrible at all, I think he is about the equivalent of Pavelec in Winnipeg. Some good some bad.

He has value, that's my point, I'm sick and tired of the organization letting guys walk away for nothing and not building towards the future. If one of Bieksa or Hamhuis isn't traded before their contracts expire I'm gonna be (frank)in LIVID!!!

I would like to see the Canucks take a step back for a couple years so they can add some good young prospects to the ones we already have.

If you are keeping Miller Markstrom then mgmt has given up their belief of winning next year and should then look at moving two bigger fish next year for some high end trades

Trying to get my last few days of relaxation in for awhile. The wife has a scheduled C-section on wed.

Bo has good trade value so does Tanev. Yes I know this is a smart ass response.

Markstrom was acquired on March 4th, 2014 at the age of 24. By all accounts he had very little to no coaching or training in the Panthers organization. He had all the physical tools and raw talent which he used to "wing-it".

He's had a year working with Rollie now, but still needs to work on not chasing the game, much the same as what Lack used to do.

Markstrom needs to get serious about training and becoming an NHL goaltender, which I think he is, from what I've read.

Sure - I'm good with that...except we don't have any "big fish" except the twins. And I don't see them being moved.

But again, for the record, if they agreed and the return was fantastic (usually never is) I'd trade them.
