Fighting over goalies...
Yes... There is a logjam-- Let them sort it out in camp and address it from there.
Build that damn D-Core. These clowns are not going to practice their way out of it.
They suck. Case closed.
Are you guys even watching what Chicago's top 4 dman are doing?
If you are-- Do you honestly think the Canucks D-Core is even HALF as good? - rugdnit
The top 4 are getting all the mins, if they lose the SC it's because they've leaned to hard on the 4. |

They were damn good; however, I don't think some of you guys appreciate just how good Seabs and Keith are.
The Hawks top 4 D took a BEATING against the Sucks... And all they did was dial it up another gear.
When Boston tried to rough them up. They matched it and then shifted into another gear. The B's had no answer for the speed and skill.
That D-Core dictates the flow and pace of the game.
They are the best in the league... And it shows. - rugdnit
I know how good they are. Chicago was one of the least physical teams in the regularson. sbisa had more hits then any of their D. only sea brook and roszival broke the 100 mark for them. |

The forwards are fantastic though. Take the pressure off the defence by playing so much offensive. |

Aquilini is just as much to blame, he's trying to accomplish something that's very difficult to do(especially with mediocre scouting). - Nucker101
I honestly think FA has taken a step back from the club, it's entirely in Trevor's hands to guide the ship.
But - regarding scouting. Who's the last player from Europe that Lindren or Gradin pulled out of their ass's??? Our scouting staff is a total embarrassment and Linden defends them...it's absolute BS. |

Push the play, keep the puck in the offensive end.

And it always comes back to the defence, as it should. Regretfully this team is not at the stage this where this really matters. - VanHockeyGuy
I am not sure I agree with that-- With a solidified D Core you can get some more kids in there.
A well built D Core can hide alot of deficiencies
Where I agree is that this team is a complete mess.
We have alot of kids coming and there is no real D Core to support them.
The question I have is this-- Will the fans want to burn TL, JB and WD when they cannot unphuck it as quickly as they see fit?
My fear is yes. And that is why this fan base doesn't deserve a winner.
We are eating our own. Ugly times indeed.

They absolutely have. They seem to be rolling with it just fine.
I expected them to wear down with what the Ducks were handing out.
How did they respond?
11.
They went to 11. |

The extent of FA's input is hard to gauge. With the stated goal- to continue to make the playoffs and not take any perceived step back, you have to wonder if this is just for marketing purposes or truly the goal? And is this goal set by FA?
Is it all about playoff revenue? Along the lines of, I don't care how you do it, just make sure we are in the playoffs every year approach?
Would love to see the behind the scenes scouting meetings. Do the euro scouts have players in mind to be drafted but where the Canucks actually draft doesn't line up with what is available or the North American scouts push harder for players that are still available?
Sorry about being late to the goalie discussion, but if we could sign Lack to an extension of say two or three years at less than 4 million per, I'd have no issue with eating 2 million of Millers salary for a couple years if we could get a 2nd rounder back or some nice prospects.

There are always going to be fans like us that support the team no matter what. We might see an empty arena on the TV, but there will be plenty of people watching from home.
We'll probably get our top 5 picks once the Sedins retire. Before then, I just want Benning to draft and develop to the best of his abilities. We have a prospect support system, in Utica, that we've never had the luxury of before. And as long as they utilize it properly, we can turn this ship around in a 5 year window.

I'd agree except with all the mismanagement over the years, you can't blame the fans for having no patience. It's not like we have much of a illustrious history to look back on. 3 of our 4 players who've had their jerseys retired only had them retired because they were captains and lead the team in career scoring at the time of their retirement. They pale in comparison to other jersey retirees who were HHOFers and huge stars of their era or accomplished a lot more than Linden, Smyl and Naslund did (Bure is the only exception and rightfully so). We've never won a Cup, and the two times we came close, we burned down the city, how does that look on us? We need a Cup (and more importantly a celebration that doesn't include riots and/or mob violence) in order to give the franchise something that it can fully embrace as a shining moment.

The HHoF isn't all it is cracked up to be either, with more than a few role players from Original 6 teams with multiple rings. Fan faves sort of business.
Personally, I don't think we should have any sweater in the rafters yet. However, I do like the players that are there, but can agree, we need a Cup. |
