And well deserved I might add. He played really really well in MTL. You won't find many Habs fans criticizing this signing. When it's bad, I'm not afraid to say it, I didn't like the Eller contract per example right off the bat and said so at the time.

If they trade Kessel, wherever he ends up next year he's going to get 82 points. Hell, because the Leafs traded him, he'll probably get 90 and 40 goals. That's the way it goes. Book it, that's the biggest lock in sports entertainment today.

I personally think if this rumor is true its gotta be JVR. JVR and Staal this dual would have the potential to dominate with their size and skill. Not necessarily a bad trade for Carolina. Jeff Skinner is literally Joffery Lupul reincarnate. So hopefully people don't over value him in this trade. But we would hopefully win this trade in the long run. The price of getting rid of a bad contract and picking up a steal of one.

No doubt. I still think the Leafs need to move on just because of age and cap, they need to rebuild. And I like Kessel more than most Leaf fans, apparently.

I still can't believe they got Babcock. That was a massive move by the Leafs. Not just because he's a good coach, but they added his cred to organization...that's huge.

I figure it's the Leafs luck that they trade him and he'll rip it up. With an actual C and D on a decent team, Kessel would be deadly. A lot of nhlers have made a point to say more or less 'it's not Kessel's fault' when asked about the Leafs, the whole team was brutal in the second half. I still think Kessel gets a bum rap from many.

Getting tired with the Adblock banner, every time you change threads. I dropped Adblock for a month, but the ads on here are too intrusive. Any pickups of top 10 picks this year, will move the rebuild along even faster. If we could some how, get 3 picks in the top 10, we could be on the upswing in 3 years, battling for a playoff spot. If we could get 2 of 3, of Hanifan, Marner or Strome, we'd be set in key positions moving forward.
