Can't see Semin and Babcock getting along..

Why the hell would we move our top 5 pick to allow a team in the same conference get 2 top 5 selections, skinner, and the possibility of Semin returning to form? Not to mention we have zero prospects.

This would be a tough sell to the Carolina fans.

They get to move down to #24, get a decent player and lose the Semin cap hit.

But they miss out on what could be a very good player in Marner or Hanifin.

At least Phil would have someone to eat donuts with.

Maybe because your team can't afford to continue paying him that money and they don't have time to actually rebuild? Skinner has concussion issues as well. Kessel hasn't missed a game since joining the leafs. Draft picks are unknown. At least you know what you are getting if you get kessel or anyone else mentioned in the blog.

Think I'd rather hope that Travis Konecny is there at 24.

It'll all depend on what Carolina's plans are if it's to rebuild or try and maximize the last few years of Eric Staal. As a leafs fan I`d pumped with this deal I just hope its not JVR who is the player. Also might rather take Provorov over Hanifin but I`m sure Hunter has seen enough of both to know who`s the better player.

Just because he didn't play center last year doesn't mean he isn't a center. He played center in Sweden and at the world juniors. I'm sure they can just move him back there

a) Semin will not return to form; and

b) Our pick from Nashville and Komarov would make you guys a winner. Today.

So let me get this straight.....there is a possibility that we can acquire the 5th overall pick AND a young potential top six fwd with injury concerns (Skinner) along with Semin for 3 years for 24th overall and assets not named Kessel?
