Are you kidding me? All we've been hearing out of Carolina since the summer of 2013 is how they'd love to rid themselves of that contract. There were rumours at the deadline they were willing to eat up to 50% of it just to part ways with him and still couldn't find any takers. They'd jump at a chance to get rid of him knowing full well that 5th overall pick will most likely be in play for any such deal. Staal's paycut, if he gets one, won't be much less than what he makes now. $7.5/year maybe.....and chances are that re-signs.
