For the most part yes. I think you could force LA's hand with Toffoli a bit, but in the end I think they still match. - HonkFortheGoose
Figure the most we can offer is like 3.75 or something like that or else wed lose a 1st if im not mistaken |

For a guy like Tarsenko or Toffoli would losing next years first be that big of a deal? |

It wouldn't shock me if we found out that an offer sheet is a route that Tim Murray is considering. - buffalofan19
It wouldn't shock me either. He has the personality type to do it, IMO. He doesn't give a poop about what anyone else thinks of him or what he's trying to do. His goal is to build a team and he'll use any means necessary to do it. |

I do as I still think its a top 1o pick. Tasenko will be resigned with whatever si put out there so that owuldnt matter. LA still makes a few moves if needed to sign toffolli |

There is a time limit for them to make those moves though. The Kings or Blues would have 1 week to make the moves necessary to make them fit. Tarasenko would be worth any top 10 pick this year except for maybe 1st overall and even then its close IMO |

That would leave them $7 million to sign 8 players (if the cap is at $71 million). It's not as cut and dry as you think.
Yes they would probably match but teams are going to have to be very careful |

The dropping of the Canadian Dollar screwed a lot of teams though. This is really the perfect storm for a few players to get offer sheeted. Teams are pretty Cap strapped this year |

There are only a few teams that can even offer sheet guys. Either they don't have the picks needed for compensation or they don't have cap room to make it work anyway. Buffalo is one of a very few that could pull one off. It's part of why they were very particular about which 3rd rounder they were giving to Pitt for Bylsma.
That said, during the press conference Murray said he hadn't considered offer sheets, but that Jakubowski (his Asst GM) mentioned that we should retain ours because it gives us more flexibility. |

I'm not sure if he will, I know that it leaves a sour taste in other GM's mouth when it happens but there will always be GM's to trade with IMO. |

Sabres big on Lehner. Offering up one of our 3rds for him currently.
Holtby on radar too but it depends if they lose out on Lehner. Besides Holtby take a look at other RFA's out there, because Sabres sure are. They want to offer sheet someone this summer. Toffoli, Saad, Tarasenko, and dougie Hamilton are on the radar.
Lots of interest in the Mike Reilly sweeps and if they don't get him and don't trade away that 2nd first round pick we have it looks as if they will use that selection to pick a d man. If Hanifin falls Murray wants to move up with that pick - Beezer33
Lehner. Sucks ass the only thing I'll give up for him is a fourth
and I disagree if hanifin falls I would still take Zack Werenski I think he's going to be way better in the long run and I hope to God we don't go back for a defenseman we draft another forward a stud winger |

Seriously?
The blue line depth is non existent after Risto, Pysyk, McCabe and Zadorov. Hannifin is a few years out but the need to start rebuilding the blue line depth as well.
They have Bailey, Baptiste, Poessler, Compher all on the wings.
