Goaltenders will fall in this deep draft just like they did in 2013. Take either Samsonov or Blackwood at #31 and will be all set in our pipeline for the next couple of years.

Plus. There would be a Rabid Goose on the news. The area would be classified as a disaster zone.

Good luck finding any Sabre's fan who is going to trade Girgensons.

Well, at least I feel better knowing every fanbase overvalue's their teams young players not excluding myself. The irony here is that Buffalo hasn't gotten passed the quater final since 2007 nor qualified for the playoffs since 2010-2011, having 6 first round picks in that time, 4 of which were top 15. Dismissing trades which address obvious needs is pretty gutsy if you want to contend anytime soon.

Otherwise, I look forward to seeing the Sabres go from bottom feeders to contenders in 2018-2019.

Probably 2017-2018, we are all aware that we are in a rebuild and NO we do not want to give away all of our talent.

I didn't know that parting with one good but not elite talent and a depth player in exchange for Stanley cup winning goaltender, stanley cup winning depth scorer, and a prospect was "giving away all of our talent".

So your team having success = you having a perfect eye for talent.

Good to know that I have that to look forward to in 2018-2019. Any sports book information that you'd like to share with the group in the interim?

I would love it if Canucks could pry away Marcus Foligno from you guys, but hes a sabre heart and soul and that's something that should never be let go.

I'm not against trading anyone but the players you listed aren't necessarily anything you can't get via free agency in any offseason. If we are going to trade a guy who could score 20, kills penalties and can bring a physical style of play, its going to have to be for someone a little bit better than Crawford or Versteeg.

No. I simply pointing out the paradox that you've been collecting talent for years and are still nowhere near competing. In my opinion, if you want to compete, you're going to need leadership and proven winners to help guide the way.

I don't need a goalie like Crawford who is pretty much just average getting paid the amount per year he does. By the time this team is ready to really compete he'd be on the tail end of his prime years. Thanks but not thanks.

As far as Versteeg goes, he's already proven he's not that great when he's no on the Hawks, so again, thanks but no thanks.

Not really sure how Schmaltz helps us if we're moving two guys with NHL time for a guy that's still in College. Seems like a step backwards.

Then I'm not trading Girgensons. He's pretty much the heartbeat of our locker room even though he's only 21.

Fair enough. At least you're not being dismissive. Versteeg is a guy that can score 20+ but digrees that he has trouble staying on the ice due to injuries. I think you're undervaluing Crawford, which is fair, as most of people do.

Good luck finding a guy that is going to score 20+ goals, kill penalties, play physical and also stay healthy. If you find him, you'll have to give up a lot more than Girgensons to get him.

I think you just described Girgensons assuming he can stay healthy.

We had Ryan Miller " the almighty" and couldnt win... i d rather have all our #1s develope for another year or 2 and be a contender year after year like Chicago has done. They built on Kane and Toews(Best player in the league) We finally got rid of all the dead weight around here and started clean. Thinking about this team in the future is very exciting. Once they get there then we can worry about a top goaltender and the rentals to put us over the top. But again we are about 2 years out on that.

Perhaps. Guys that play that physical do not stay healthy though. Ryan Kesler comes to mind.

Crawford, Versteeg, Schmaltz for Grigorenko and Deslauries?
