As always great article, there are a few goalies worth a shot at the start of the 2nd round. Im just in the mold of get a goalie who is more NHL ready.

That's a pretty sub par list, i'd consider taking 2 in this draft.

Take 1 of Blackwood/Samsonov then Sandstrom later on.

Tough to say right now that we should have done that. We don't knwo who we will end up with in goal (I'm not at all worried about it) and we don't knwo where Fucale or Compher will end up.

Great in-depth article. I agree that Peterson, Ullmark, and Johansson are solid prospects. I would even put Markov into that group too. For me, I am of the belief that an above average goaltender who gets hot during the playoffs can result in a successful cup run with the right team, i.e. Crawford

I would not give up much to trade for a goalie, and like the strategy of drafting one a year in the later rounds. Maybe take a goalie with the 51st pick this year if one slips (Blackwood, Vladar, or Samsonov). Otherwise, bring back Lindback and another free agent to fight for the starting job. If Lehner is available for a reasonable price pull the trigger on him.

If in 2-3 years, when we start to compete, our goalie situation has not resolved itself within the organization, then make a trade.

I think you're failing to understand what a prospect is. It's someone who doesn't play for the 'big club.' Kid's played a total of like 12 professional games between BFLO and Rochester, otherwise he was close to MVP of the Canadian Junior Team that boasted some serious prospects.
